The Pretentious Blogging Meme

...another meme from Sunday Stealing!

Glad to make it just in time! :) So here goes my entry --

1. How long have you been blogging?

Well I started blogging November of 2005, so that makes it 4 years and about 2 months!

2. What made you start?

I just wanted to write...I wanted to write about what and how I feel, what I think and just about anything.
3. Who inspired you?

I've been wanting to write ever since, but I have to admit there were several blogs which inspired to finally create my own blog. I believe I did mention about them in the past, unfortunately though some of them have stopped blogging already.

4. About how many hours a week would you estimate you spend on your blog?

Blogging is not just about writing a post, that will not take so much time, I guess an hour a day is already good for that. But then blogging for me is about visiting other people and learning something about them, so that takes time. I usually spend more hours during weekend to make sure I get to visit others. So I guess that gives me 20-24 hours a week?

5. What kind of experience or background do you have with writing?

I write as a hobby. I did the paper for the youth council. I was also active in our school paper.

6. Talk about how you come up with blog topics. Where do you get your ideas?

I join daily memes so that covers certain topics to post about specially in times when my mind goes blank. I also have my own Tech Tuesday and Tuesday's Tales which are more than enough to occupy my Tuesday.

I write random stuff, I really don't sweat it out. I just write about anything I want, from what makes me smile to what really pisses me off! LOL

7. What or who inspires you and your blog?

This is a personal blog so I'd say people around me inspires almost all my writings here.

8. Where and/or how do your brainstorming for your blog?

As I said I write random stuff and sometimes out of those random topics I get my inspirations to write something more serious on related topics. Sometimes the IT Guy too do get to suggest some topics to write about. I am also blessed to have really close friends who sometimes just call me up and tell me to write some topics.

9. Do you have any blogging rules or guidelines you follow?

This is a personal blog so I get to write anything I'm comfortable talking about myself. That's it, it's all about me and if ever I get to mention people in my blog I have to ask for their permission and I try not to talk much about them. For people that annoys me, well I don't name names of course! LOL

10. Is there anything you will not blog about?

I think all writers know that they just can't write about anything. Everything has some limits. I don't write too personal stuff which readers may not have anything to do about. I also try not to write on some topics which are too serious.

11. Do you have any sort of a publishing schedule in terms of day of week or topic?

Well, I have some daily memes which I do other than the random stuff which I write every now and then.
So that's it, I wish you all a super kickass Sunday!

Planning Your Valentine's Day

It's now the end of the month and February is fast approaching...in a few days it will be Valentine's Day! As most of you know I am the hopeless romantic type dates like Valentine's Day though not all that matters to me, it certainly does matter to me.

I remember my Pre-Valentine Escapade with the IT Guy two years ago. We went to Hong Kong, stayed in a very nice hotel, went around a bit to shop and more than anything we were able to spend time with each other. It was just so thoughtful of him to surprise me with a trip like that. It was so memorable!

Of course with the length of time I have been with the IT Guy, truly we've had so many Valentine's Day spent together already, I would say all were fun and memorable and I always look forward to our next Valentine's together, like any lovers I guess.

The thing though is well, not all ha enough cash to pull up a very good date. And no matter how simple we want to celebrate it, the fact that the whole world celebrates it tells us that nothing is just cheap on a Valentine's Day. So some people would opt to get some cash advance to make sure they have this special event covered.

Easy Friday...

This will be quick...and I will be back later to visit everyone, and by the way, I so love #1!

I have already tendered my resignation at work and will be officially free end of the month. WOOT! I have a lot of things in my plate for the new organization I'd be joining and since I just recovered from flu and asthma I'm just trying to take things easy.

Happy Friday Fill-ins to all!

1. Wouldn't it be easy if sweatpants were sexy, Monday mornings were fun, junk food was healthy, friends didn't cause drama, guys weren't confusing, nothing was regretable, and good-byes only meant until tomorrow?
2. Today will be better than ever!
3. I love the taste of dark chocolate.
4. I am rarely in the living room.
5. The first thing we're going to do is figure out what we want.
6. Drip drip, drip, drip; says the rain.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to doing my final turnover at work, tomorrow my plans include going with the nephew for a haircut and Sunday, I want to visit the Taoist Temple!

Be a Green Police!

Be part of the world's largest greenfield music and performing arts festival, be a be a Green Police! Yes, I am talking about the Glastonbury festival, a fun and creative way of promoting environmental concerns by promoting simple rules are follows --

* We stop people urinating in the water and hedgerows.
* We make sure people dispose of their fag butts correctly.
* We encourage litter picking, recycling and better waste management.

I have always been a lover of nature and I really admire efforts like this. Nothing grand, nothing fancy but to the point. We all can help save mother nature and be a green-keeper by keeping the fun, creativity and sexiness, which is just what Glastonbury Festival is all about. Just look at how fun it is!

While it is certainly fun and artsy, the festival retains its seriousness and intent in promoting their main objectives. All these rules will be explain to festival goers face to face and should you want to be part of it, you have to make up your mind and heart to it.

So what are you waiting for, be part of this grand festival, send in your Green Police application now!

Mariposa's Banana Cake

Happy Friday everyone! Mariposa has finally seen the light...after days of staying in bed due to flu which complicates to asthma. Today is such a darn good day as I am way better when I thought I'd die with all the tissue papers I've sneezed into.

Despite the illness I still managed to sneak out once in awhile to bake some banana cakes. For this week we've made about a hundred of it! We could have made more but oh well, a hundred is already a lot. People just LOVE it. It is a bit moist and not dry like some others you find and well they say its YUMMY!

Hmmm....I can smell its sweet aroma just by looking at the photos! LOL

Hormones Are Girl's Best Friend!

Have you been under the weather? Having a bad day? Do you go ahead and blame it on the hormones? Most of us would probably blame everything on our hormones, it does not have to be! While it is true that hormones play a vital role in our lives we need be driven by it. We can be independent from it but simply understanding what are these hormones all about.

From infancy, puberty, pregnancy up to menopausal stage our hormones cycles and thus affect our body. It may not bee too apparent at childhood but no doubt even prior to puberty there is already some hormonal change going in our body and it cycles up and down as we reach puberty. In my teens I was lucky enough to have my Mom to guide me. She was very honest and candid to me in explaining the changes in my body. She then introduced me to my Ob-Gyn which I am always thankful for. At an early age I was able to reach a certain level of understanding about women's health. So it was not a shock to me to have some specific cravings days before my period for example. I am also able to watch how my weight cycles up and down. I guess women who are trying to manage their weight regardless which stage they are need to have a thorough understanding of the female hormones, specifically their own. That way they would know best how to handle themselves and would no longer blame hormones for bad hair day, skin rashes and weight gains. There are some online resources which can help women in managing their diet too such seattle hcg.

Remember hormones are not our enemy, we just have to befriend them and one way of doing that is understanding them! ;)

Claiming Rights

IT Guy has been quite busy this week. The wife of this supervisor just passed away and a very good friend of his is on critical condition --both cases were caused by brain injuries. Very sad...quite awful.

I couldn't give out much details about the supervisor's wife who just passed away but I can tell what happened to his friend. When they were still in their high school IT Guy recalled his friend being pushed some bullies in their school. After that his friend has been absent from the class for days. He was reported to have been vomiting. There were some episodes of headaches after that which eventually they tossed aside. Few years after he was diagnosed with some brain complications and the main cause of which is that brain injury he incurred several years ago. This is not an isolated case at all. This happens to a lot of people who got into accident without a thorough check-up on the extent of the injuries they have incurred. Most of the times it is already too late for the victims to react and the ones who caused them damages had been freed. This is also one of the many reasons why I don't like the IT Guy in a motor bike. I am just too scared of accidents. It is an advantage to some states that has brain injury lawyer available to guide victims in making sure they are well taken cared of. In most cases here, the moment the victim is able to walk a release from further liability is done. Very sad, and quite unfair. IT Guy's friend now is shouldering all medical expenses and it is the same with other accident victims here.

Heritage of Cebu Monument

Heritage of Cebu Monument

The Heritage of Cebu monument is a tableau built by renowned artist Eduardo Castrillo featuring some of Cebu’s important heritage sites and events. This project was commissioned by the Archdiocese of Cebu, which was then turned over to the city government, was in turn recently turned over to the officials of Barangay Parian where this monument is located.

Happy Wordless Wednesday everyone!

Writing Options

Are you running around trying to finish that research paper that is due very soon?

Well, most working students face the problem of joggling their study time and working hours and while earning that money to pay their schooling, they sometimes end up not meeting some of their academic requirements. Of all the academic requirements, I would that research paper occupies most of every students time. For one this has is usually unique in content and need ample time and effort for write, not to mention the fact that not everyone can write in a breeze given any topic. Ha!

But with the onset of technology things are made a bit easy for students, especially the ones who are working. Just look around and once can find Research Paper Format ready for use. I went ahead try to see what these sites have to offer and this particular one kind of offer a pretty good deal. They do customized writings, so you do not have to worry about your content being too common. They have also served a quite number of users which list they kept confidential, and well I suppose their list of users is proof enough of the quality of their jobs. Their service is also quite flexible allowing you to set the level of your involvement. So that means you can engage them for a specific steps only such as proof reading and editing or they can also take care of the whole thing for you. They also offer a 24 by 7 support should have any questions and if you need their assistance. And more importantly, they guarantee that the work given to you belongs to you and is not in any way mass produced and sold to other users. I believe that's the most important part. You do not want to submit something that the other students in the other class just submitted, right?

Kissing The Pain Away

Earning money for a living has its own advantages and disadvantages. Getting a job means having to spend your money the way you need and want it. However, working can be very stressful all at the same time. You have to deal with your boss, whether you like it or not. You have to be a little civil with an annoying co-worker. You have to meet deadlines. Other times, you have to work overtime just to deliver on time. Most of all, you have to do your job better than others to avoid getting fired. In this competitive world, mediocrity has no place anywhere at all. One single move and you can be easily replaced by someone who wants your job position more than you do.

Oftentimes, when you start working hard, you start to over work your mind and body as well. Yet, you usually ignore the limits of your body and mind, more often overstretching them beyond their limitations. Working hard should not mean ignoring your health. How will you properly do your job if you are physically and mentally weak? So, take your vitamins, get enough rest, eat a proper diet, do something fun during your leisure time, and take your meds once you get sick.

Usually, when working hard gets really stressful, you start feeling pain on any parts of your body, be it the neck, back, shoulders, or any where else. Don’t ignore the pain. Instead, take Tramadol, known to relieve pain, be it moderate or moderately severe. Usually tramadol 50 mg can take care of it easily.

Where to buy Tramadol? Just visit this tramadolbluebook.com. This site was founded in 2006 by a medical doctor for consumers who want to avail Tramadol at affordable prices. It provides credentials of online pharmacies and lets you compare prices.

Medicines don’t have to be expensive. Getting sick is expensive enough, let alone buying medicines to cure you. So, purchase only effective yet affordable medicines.

My Home Inside My Home

Life According to Jan and Jer are our Fun Monday hosts for the week. And well they say --

As your hostess this week...here is what I dreamed up! The big question is ....What is the favorite room in your home? Tell us why and show us a photo if you can.

I am guessing most people would say it's their bedroom, but well not for Mariposa. I am rarely in my bedroom when I am home! LOL

The past months, I've been spending most of my time at the kitchen. Lately I find myself baking some cakes or pastries or just trying out some new recipes. This is something new but I am seeing this to last very long.

This is the snapshot of the small kitchen where I always bake the famous Mariposa's Lengua de Gato and Banana cake. I say famous because lately I've been getting huge orders and more than the money I am making I am enjoying the feeling of it, SO MUCH!

This was before the repainting project...I apologize I don't have  a very recent photo as I just got back from a trip and is recovering from flu.

Just when the IT Guy was ready to take a shot, the nephew came running to make sure he joins in the photo shoot! LOL

Next photo shows Mariposa and the nephew more settled! I am having such a good relationship with this cute oven of mine! It doesn't eat space, it serves my need and is very gas efficient.

My next favorite part of the house is not really a room, it's the garden! I LOVE staring at the greens and I love tending the plants.

In the garden is also where I play with the nephew! IT Guy and I spend some of our lazy Sunday afternoon here playing with the nephew.

And that's it for my Fun Monday post, you just have my home inside my home. Let me head over to our hosts to check what the others have...

I wish all you a great week!

Sweet Treat from the Philippines!

This is one of the many sweet rice treat from the Philippines. We have so many versions of rice cakes and this is just one of them, famous for the name BIKO. The house is just famous for it among friends. You can also some varieties being topped with caramel or latik. But this one is just the plain version as Mariposa is not so much fond of sweets. :)

Sinulog 2010

Today I will share to you some tales about the Sinulog which I promise to do last weekend.

Sinulog, perhaps one of the biggest and most famous festivals in the Philippines, is annually held every third Sunday of January in Cebu City. The festival honors the patron Saint of Cebu City, Santo Niño (Holy Child) or the child Jesus. Famous for its forward-background dance movement, Sinulog is a dance ritual that celebrates the natives’ acceptance of the Roman Catholic faith.

The Sinulog dance movement features its infamous two steps forward and one step backward together with the beat of the drums. It is said that the dance movement is just like the water current movement, or sulog, as Cebuanos call it in their dialect; thus where the Sinulog word originates from.

Since 1521 when the Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan baptized the Cebuano natives and converted them to the Roman Catholic faith, the Cebuanos have shown much devotion. But the first ever Sinulog parade started on 1980, organized by then Regional Director of the Ministry of Sports, and Youth Development, David Odilao. He then turned over the event to the Cebu City Historical Committee who up to now is tasked to conceptualize the yearly Sinulog festival. Thus, Sinulog 2010 marks the 30th celebration of devotion to the Santo Niño.

The Sinulog festival usually lasts for nine days, concluding on the last day with the Sinulog Grand Parade. For nine days, a lot of activities are usually held, may they be religious-related or social-related activities. Religious-related activities include the nine-day novena and masses held at the Basilica del Sto. Ni̱o church; the Fluvial Procession, which is traditionally held at dawn a day before the grand parade, starts from Mandaue City wherein a pump boat carries a statue of the Santo Ni̱o to Cebu City wherein later that afternoon a street possession takes place; and a Pontifical Mass held on the feast day at the Basilica del Santo Ni̱o church, which is led by the Cardinal and several other bishops of Cebu. On the other hand, social-related activities include Miss Cebu beauty pageant, one of the most prestigious beauty pageants in the country; a series of band concerts on famous hang-out places; fireworks competition at SM City РCebu held one day before the feast day; a series of fireworks display at Club Ultima, Crown Regency, Cebu City Sports Complex; and the Grand Fireworks Finale Display, which is very popular and is now a tradition at Ayala Center Cebu.

The Sinulog Grand Parade features a street parade and participants from every sector of the Cebuano community dressed in very colorful and bright costumes dancing to the tune of the drums. Because of its popularity not just in the country but all over the globe as well, Sinulog is flocked by tourists from every where. Millions of Cebuanos, tourists, public figures flood the streets of Cebu City every year to watch the parade, dance on the streets, and merely enjoy the event. Every year, the Sinulog festival just gets getting bigger, better, brighter, and more fun.

This year marks Cebu's 30th year of Sinulog celebration.

Happy Tales

Everything today will be about happy tales! Yes, what a better way to do Tuesday's Tales than by starting with an unexpected award?!

Alice Audrey of Alice's Restaurant just shared her Happy 101 Award with Mariposa! WOOT!

Recipient of this award is to list 10 things that makes them happy and pass it to 10 wonderful people who makes them happy!

So today I will be sharing some happy tales...here are 10 simple things that draws a smile in my face and make my heart beat to the tune of happiness.

1. Getting unexpected Blog Awards like this one! I used to get a lot before and I am so happy to start getting one again!

2. Getting nice comments from my readers! It's always nice to hear from readers you know. With all the busyness in life, it just feels good to know that friends stop by and say hello.

3. Spending time with myself and the sunset (sunrise)! I just love them and can't have enough of them!

4. Spending time in the kitchen whether I'm cooking or baking gives me some sense of satisfaction. This is something I just discovered recently though and this is something I can't imagine I'd love doing years back. Every time I am in the kitchen, I just tend to forget all my worries and happy thoughts occupies me...and so far everything I've done in the kitchen has been a huge success! Some people order cakes and pastries from me now. WOOT!

5. Blogging makes me happy! I love to write...about anything and nothing. Sometimes work and health issues get in the way but to find time to make here is such a joy for me. I feel like there is a missing part of me everytime I don't get to blog and read blogs. (Addicted to blogging, ha!)

6. Surprise calls from friends! This would make my heart jumped. It just feels good to be remembered by friends you know and to reconnect with each other is something I just love to do.

7. Coffee makes me happy. Having a cup of coffee with the IT Guy or other friends a bonus. I don't mind if they don't drink it...it just feels so good having good companies at times, and I mean the coffee and the friend. When I don't feel good, I drink coffee. When I am happy, I celebrate with coffee. When I am hopeful, I share it with coffee. Life for me just begins after coffee!

8. Travel makes me happy. I don't care if it's just a long drive or whatever. To get out of the city and go somewhere is just something I always look forward to. I guess my life at work is just too stressful that I need to see some place else to be with my real self. And speaking of travel, I'm going to Grandma's farm this weekend...and I am so excited!

9. Home improvement projects make me happy to no end! I will never run out of energy thinking of ways to improve the house and the garden. I can do as detailed as mixing the paint myself to make sure I get that unique Mariposa touch. I also shop to no end stuff we can use for the house. I am a home buddy...and I feel I have to make my home presentable not just for friends but to myself.

10. When the IT Guy gets to support whatever I am doing without my explaining to him to no end. When he get to appreciate everything that I do without me convincing him. When he readily give some words of appreciation. And when he tells me he cares and love me....specially in moments when I needed to hear them.

Okay...that's it! I figured there are still alot of other things that makes me happy but well, I can put that list up another time. When people ask me what are the things that makes me happy I used to think hard, but anymore. I figured I just have to look at a child and see how he's doing it. A candy bar is enough for him to scream joy. Happiness doesn't have to be grand. And if you think the same way, I'm sharing this Happy 101 Award with you.

Sending you all happy thoughts,

Disabling Startup Programs in Windows

Time for some computing tips because it's Tech Tuesday once again!

Well remember I did a post on What To Do When Computer Boots Up Slow? I did talk then about different ways on how to solve that problem promised to discuss each. I already did a follow-up post about Scandisk and Defrag and today I will talk about how to disable startup programs.

Programs that run from startup can cause a computer to boot up slow and as I have mentioned before there are several ways to prevent a program from running at startup and let me discuss to you here some of the most common ways.

Method A:

Configuring Windows Startup folders for Windows (95/98/Me/XP/Vista)

You can find a number of program shortcuts if you go to (Start –> Programs –> Startup) or (Start –> All Programs –> Startup). Programs found in these shortcuts will run at startup. you just have to delete the shortcuts that you don’t want to run at startup, based on your OS as listed below:

    * Win9x/98/Me – C:\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\StartUp
    * WinNT/2K – C:\Winnt\Profiles\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\StartUp
    * WinXP – C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

Method B:

Through the use of System Configuration Utility (MSCONFIG)

    * Windows Vista
You can access MSCONFIG by going to “Start”, type the word msconfig and wait for a second for the Windows to search for the utility and then click on the MSCONFIG shown at the top of the menu. (Another easy way of once you have typed msconfig, just hit ENTER, this always works for me!)

    * WindowsXP and other Windows
Access the MSCONFIG utility by going to "Start" then to "Run", then type the word msconfig and hit ENTER.

You will find under the Startup tab a list of all the programs that start in the Windows Registry. All you need to do is just uncheck the programs you don’t want to load and leave the rest alone. Once you're done unchecking, click Apply and then click OK.

Windows (95/98/Me/XP)

Windows (Vista/7)

It is that easy! Just remember, for anything you are unsure of, leave it alone or get some technical help from friends...or make sure you remember what you uncheck so that if something goes wrong you can restore them back!

Hope you learn something this Tuesday!

Importance of a Holidays Specialist

Ever wanting to go on a vacation to places like Cuba? We do! It's just that to go to Cuba is not as easy and I want to believe it is. What I am meaning to say is that to make sure everything is taken cared of, it is best to get that cuba holidays specialist to arrange everything!

If there is one thing I learned about going on a vacation, especially in places like Cuba, is to make sure you hire a specialist to take care of everything. I don't want my trip ruined by some little details that I missed to consider while planning the whole trip. I also want to make sure I am safe..and I feel safe the whole time because I know where to go to and whom to call in case I have some issues.

Hands Off

It's a Monday and I'm not so alive to start my week. My throat is kind of dry and my entire body is aching...and this is already way better compared to yesterday's. I had a massage last night and it made me feel better but that not enough to make me start my week.

But well, it's Fun Monday so here goes!

Lil Mouse is hosting this week and this week's topic is about chores. She wants to know what our least favorite chore!

Well this is easy, what about I am indifferent to all of them? Ha!

The IT Guy always tell me I can't survive living on my own as I don't do or help with the chores at home. Well, Mom raised me up well and taught me how to perform most of the household chores from doing the laundry, ironing the clothes, cleaning the house, cooking, washing the dishes and all that but she never made me obligated to do them. She's always around...so that made me princess! LOL

Anyway, there are things that I love to do and they are cooking, taking care of the interior design of the house and gardening. I do clean sometimes, but my allergies to dust makes me try to run away from that chore. I also can't stand cleaning the toilet as I hate those liquids that we use to clean. If you get me exposed to those, I'll be sneezing for the entire day!

But I love to stay in the kitchen. I love to cook and I love to bake. The thing is I never liked washing the dishes. I just don't like wetting my hands at all. I prefer to use alcogel for my hands than to wash them. And no, they're not dry I just don't like the idea of wetting them all the time and exposing them to waters for a long time. And I have a lot of reasons - they don't do any good to my nails (yes you can laugh!), they make the life span of my nail polish too short and it makes my skin peel off!

So Mariposa has to wear gloves every time she's in the sink washing something like this one!

There...I was facing one of my dreaded chore...armed with gloves! LOL I will do anything so as just my hands don't get wet!

I will visit every one later...I need to rest, I can't miss work today as the boss is coming. (((SIGH)))

I wish you all a great week ahead!

Cheap Eyeglasses

Wanting to change those glasses but find it too expensive to do so?

Well I thought the same until I came across this article discussing how we can get cheap quality eyeglasses at Zenni Optical. That article was a review aimed at informing us that we have a lot of options in buying eyeglasses. I went and check this supplier and I was amazed with the many good designs I found, and the most important part, they're all reasonably priced. I was like wow, I can have like 2 pairs so I have extra! Because it was that cheap. How cheap you may ask, well you can a prescription glasses for as low at $8. Now you can hop there and see it yourself.

Mariposa Trivia

...just another about me meme from Sunday Stealing!

It's kind of late for me to do another Sunday meme but oh well, I find this meme simply irresistible! LOL

Here goes --

Opening…

Do you get regular massages?

Hell yes! Every weekend in fact...I just can't live without it.

Do you have an answering machine?

We used to have one...but not anymore. We have caller ID anyway to track callers so we can ring them back! My cellphone though has a voicemail.

What cuss word do you use the most?

Cr@p...Sh!t and well the F word.

Are you underweight or overweight?

I am underweight according to my doctor. I struggle to make sure I don't fall below 100 lbs!

Can you see your veins?

Yes, there are some!

Favorite…

Soap?

The one I'm loving now is specially made by my Derma. I call it the Pink soap. LOL

Fruit?

I LOVE them all! But let me just mention watermelon!

Kind of red meat? Steak

Fish? Sashimi. Yup, I love them raw!

Candy bar?

Anything will do, I'm not really fond of candies and sweets.

Have You Ever…

Eaten a whole bag of potato chips? I tried and failed.

Eaten lobster? Yes!

Climbed a mountain? Many times!

Been skydiving? Once and I will not do it again!

Been water skiing? Nope.

Do You…

Wish you could change something about your life? This is a qualified yes.

Like your nose? I not crazy about it. LOL

Like salt and vinegar chips? Sometimes.

Eat salsa? Always.

Own a boat? Nope.

What Is…

A small thing that people let slide but that actually has dire consequences?

I'd say our financial obligations...like forgotten bills! Also I'd like to add our little daily obligations to people w care, like that promise to call, to join dinner and go to movies. Those things mean so much to me and an aggregate failure would eventually create monumental consequences.

Your most macho trait?

I don't know, I'm very girly and sweet, but oh well, I can punch and kick like most guys. :)

The longest relationship you’ve ever had?

The one I have with myself, my parents, my brother and then with the IT Guy!

Your most embarrassing thoughts?

The thought that nothing embarrasses me anymore.

Your most shameful moment?

I have to think hard. I can't think of anything right now...I guess it's moments like this, when my mind goes blank!

This/That…

Bath/Shower?

Depends! In a hurry to go somewhere means just a shower but at the end of the day I always need a meaningful bath. Btw, most people here would get confuse with this one as for the most, they're the same!

Markers/Crayons? Both.

Pens/Pencils? Pens.

Jelly/Cream Cheese? Strawberry Jam!

Bagel/Toast? Toast of course.

Finish…

My greatest weakness is…jewelry...and shoes!

I wish I was…myself many years ago!

Three things I wouldn’t do for a million dollars are…rob, hurt people and kill someone.

The oddest thing I’ve ever put in my mouth is...

Oh my gawd, next question please! ROFL

Wow, I did not expect it to be that long! But well...it's done. I will be back with Fun Monday later.

Ship That

Companies like American Auto Transport is quite new to me. Actually the whole concept of shipping one's car to any place is something not so common here. If we move to a place within the country we usually bring the car with us via boat/ship. If we order the car let us say from Manila and we live in Cebu, the seller ships it here, it's not like how most people in the US or in the North America would do it.

This reminds me of a friend who has to move to Belize to work, he had his BMW shipped there. He also mentioned to me that he can do it wherever in the US. I think this is a cool service and if you are looking for one, you may check them out to see what they have to offer!

An Anxious Sunday

It's Sinulog here in Cebu and I'm going to make a separate post about it later today. It's a lazy Sunday for me, for the most part beating myself up for not remembering where in the world I saved IEC Solutions logo. I know it's somewhere, just too lazy to dig into the archives! This is an anxious lazy Sunday for me for a lot of reasons...and I think I need to release it!

So here is my Unconscious Mutterings for the week...
  1. Weak :: ...in the knees
  2. Flashy :: neon lights
  3. Sack :: of money? LOL
  4. Business :: business partners
  5. Purple :: ...rain!
  6. Fan :: ...mail?
  7. Airline :: industry
  8. Guide :: event guide
  9. Lunch :: lunch date!
  10. Exercise :: is healthy

Pit Senyor Cebu! And to the rest of the world, happy Sunday!

To Fold or Not to Fold

Not so long ago I talked about the IT Guy himself getting a treadmill. What he got is the fixed one. It's nice...but it eats space. So, right now I'm considering getting a folding treadmill. I know most people would frown over it as in their mind, the fact that it can be folded tells you that it is not that stable and reliable. They may have a point about it many years ago. But companies do learn and they have improved on their designs that even for folding treadmills you can still get that stability you need. I personally would prefer the folded one because it can keep kept away and I save space.

So I have been checking around and saw several nice ones. I am so wanting to get one now! I am so excited with the fact that I only take them out when I am going to use them and get to keep them off sight when I don't need them. I can also set them up wherever I feel like doing my exercise. I can have it at the porch in fact!

I was quite surprise when my friend told me she has not idea about folding treadmill as I thought it is quite common nowadays. For those who are planning of getting one but have issues with space, you may want to try this kind. You can check it out at any Online Sports Store.

The Blue Pills

Everyday I've been getting emails giving me discounts for viagra and cialis? Oh well, I know about viagra, but not with the other one. And ha, I don't need some blue pills! :P

So out of curiosity I ran some quick online queries about viagra. Just want to check whatever will come out and this is what I find. Many male celebrities take it. And some do not mind discussing them in public. Some of the most controversial personalities I came across in my search were Simon Cowell and Enrique Iglesia.

To be honest, I don't see anything wrong taking blue pills. My stand is, as long as it is safe for the person to take, go ahead! And I will never take it against that person, if ever I finds out. In fact, I told the IT Guy that should he get to the phase that he needs some "assistance" other than me, he can have that blue pills anytime. LOL

I am not so sure if anyone can just buy viagra. I believe it is still best to see a doctor though to make sure it's safe for you. I hope people becomes more open about it so that way people needing help will be feel embarrassed about it. I'd rather these issues are dealt with maturely rather than denying it for fears and eventually affecting relationships.

Okay, so that's my learning this afternoon. I still hope they stop flooding my email with viagra stuff.

Anne a lay Apostle's Climbing the Mountain

This year the IT Guy and I received several books from friends. I am really happy with this as I love to read. the most recent addition to our small library is the book, Climbing the Mountain by Anne a lay Apostle.

I have not read it yet but I am very interested to go through it as it seems interesting. I think this is something inspirational and a good read for people who are climbing their own mountains. I believe we all have our mountains and I also know most of us have scaled a lot...and I am so wanting to get the book's perspective on this. I promise to get back and do a book review on this one.

Love At First Chat

...when it used to be "Love at first sight."

No doubt, internet made the way we humans interact evolved in so many amazing ways. No longer the time when friends feels the need to set up another friends for a date or vice versa. If there are now certainly a number of ways to meet new friends aside from going to that party you're not comfortable to go to anyway because we can meet somebody from anywhere in this world anytime by just sitting at home. All we need is internet!

This whole concept of socializing not only widens our horizons in meeting friends but it also changed the topography of relationships among us. We now have this thing called  online dating.

This is a quite interesting concept to talk about and it is very interesting to know what we can find out what are the impact of internet on intimate relationships. I am so thankful for organizations who reached and try to take a closer look on this. If I will just base it among friends I can certainly tell that internet and online dating replaces the need to personally interact with a person in order for them to get involved. They are still able to have relationship with them despite the distance and the physical detachment.

So have you fallen in love with a chat mate? Was it developed across time? Or was it love at first chat?!

Alexander von Furstenberg

A friend of mine mentioned about Alexander von Furstenberg. My friend seems to keep talking about him for weeks now so I opted to write something about him here. He comes from a very well-known family. In fact both parents were icons in the fashion world. He is a designer and at the same a philanthropist.
I have quite a limited knowledge about him but all I know is that I love the stuff I got from DVF(Diane von Furstenberg). Oneo f my favorite and a recent addition to my DVF collection is a white dress. Very simple, very casual yet very elegant. I admit I rarely get to wear it but when I wear it, it's definitely a head turner. Ha!

I also love their coats and jackets and regardless of the price, and though they're a bit pricey I don't mind because they are all so worth it.

Also I appreciate the fact that Alexander von Furstenberg is funding several projects, programs and initiatives with good causes, so I don't mind buying from his lines of clothing. I feel my money goes a long way, beyond the nice and trendy outfit to the quality of the fabric to the social responsibility that his company shares.

Today for whatever reason, I did try to know him more and did some online research. So if you want to know more about this guy, I just found something about him and it may be a good start for your readings. Friends, please meet Alexander von Furstenberg!

Moving Out of Cebu...

For the information of everybody I am still not over with my readings on hunting for home for rents. I'm just trying to learn more about it...and I mean everything I need to know about it. Even more that its ABC. Yes, I am that serious!

That is because right now I am with the possibility of moving to another city and well I'd be renting my own place there and I will be on my own. Though not all the time but it will be something I need to do on my own. I have some nice opportunities with work and career and I believe it will do my great stuff...not just financially but over all if I move there and learn new stuff.

So I am trying to read more about looking for homes for rent and I mean from choosing the right neighborhood, to the right land lord/ land lady, to cost of rental and all that. I am also trying to weigh the cost between investing for your appliances and other furnishings to getting a ready place. With a ready place I mean it should be fully furnished and will let me function and live life that way I'm living it.

I need a nice kitchen, I need my shower to have hot water, the bath tubs is not much of an issue, I need an AC and I need a comfy bed. Not must to ask I guess plus the fact that I am willing to pay for it. I just hope it will be easy for me to find a qualified place as I do not want to so much time on it. It's a good thing the internet offers so much information and most of the time they all come handy.

I am so looking forward to checking the place out. I hope I will have several choices and hopefully I get to pick the best and hopefully I get settled there before middle of this year.

Cars...

I've been away, my apologies to Sayre for missing Fun Monday. I just got swamped with a lot of things and I was not feeling well last weekend. But I still want to make a quick post about her theme --

I want to know your car history.  What was your first car?  Which was your favorite car?  And what are you driving now - and why?

Hmmm, I will try to make this easy and fast as I'm trying to catch with a lot of things.

The very first car I got to drive was a 1997 Mazda Miata. It was a birthday gift but it turned out I wanted to travel than drive so I sold it. Ha! I'm not just too excited too drive. The bf then always drives for me and if he was not around, my friends were always there. I have photos of it but can't seem to find it right now, but nevertheless it looked like this one --

And yes, it was red too! :)

No regrets as I was to tour Europe in exchange of it and I'd say the tour was way better than driving around the city. :P

After that I never had any chance to own a car. Not that I can't afford to get one, but I'm just too lazy to drive. The IT Guy always drives for me. My family and friends can give me a ride anytime. If they're not around, well, I can take a cab. I always take a cab. In fact I like it that way because I don't have to worry about parking and all.

The IT Guy has a different story though. He's a lover of cars, like most men. But that is his story to tell. And I just couldn't get the passion to talk about it. Between cars and shoes and diamonds, I'd get the shoes and diamonds! LOL

P.S. My Monday was a manic one! The Company has entered into a merger and the partner company just visited our site and that kept everybody busy.
