When It's Cold...

A little late for Fun Monday...but glad to still make it!

Ari is hosting this week's Fun Monday...and she sets the following theme --

Theme for Jan. 3:  I live in a climate with a long, cold winters. Over the years, I've built up a supply of clothing and items to keep warm and dry. I think of them as my arsenal for winter combat. What's in your winter weather arsenal? Or, if you don't have tough winters where you live, tell us about something you own that you wouldn't want to be without.

Now...I live in the tropics and we have no winter, yet I've tried it when I had the chance to travel to US and some parts of Europe...and I'd day I can't survive winter! Yes, I just can't.

While I live in the tropics...I can still participate Fun Monday I guess. *wink* We have our rainy season here which is the colder part of the year...and it is around this time. I know it's nothing compared to winter in the US and other parts of the world...but well...

For rainy season...I usually wear sweaters and jackets, like this one!

It's an old photo...and in fact I have posted this already here...but hey, I just don't want to miss Fun Monday anymore!

P.S. My apologies for messing up the past Fun Mondays. The change of work just got me really busy beyond words...while it is something I have been wanting for so long...it is also killing me in some ways. I will be very careful with my wishes next time! LOL

Happy New Year guys...and wish you all a great week ahead!

Brand Names Which Makes Life Easy!

I am running late...my apologies!

A cousin of mine passed away and I had to go to Cebu over the weekend to attend her funeral and back in Bacolod within 24 hours. I am still not over the thought that she passed away trying to deliver her baby and we both lost them. (I will blog about it another time.)

Needless to say I am so tired and in the middle of so many things...but oh well, Monday is supposed to be a Fun Monday so here goes some brand names which makes life easy, well at least mine!

Let me start with Tylenol! This has been a good company in times of migraines. I always carry it in my bag...and for whatever reason this really works well with me than any other pain relievers.

After this comes my comfort drink --

And of course, how could I miss another company in times of colds --

The latest addition which is close to my heart and has been helping me get by my crazy schedule is Blackberry!

And of course there are a lot of brand names which makes life generally easy to a point that we have used this brand names as generic labels...below are some examples which I can think of --

  • “Band-Aid” when we mean adhesive bandage
  • “ChapStick” when we mean lip balm
  • “Clorox” when referring to any bleach
  • “Crayola” when we mean crayons
  • “Discman” when we mean portable personal CD player
  • “Elmer’s” when referring to any type of adhesive glue
  • “Frigidaire” when we mean refrigerator

  • “Glad Wrap” or “Handy Wrap” or “Saran Wrap” when we mean plastic wrap cling film
  • “Google” when we mean looking up something in a search engine
  • “Hacky Sack” when we mean footbag
  • “iPod” when referring to any type of personal portable media player
  • “Jacuzzi” when referring to any hot tub or whirlpool bath
  • “Jeep” when referring to any compact sport utility vehicle
  • “Jell-O” when we mean gelatin dessert
  • “Kool-Aid” when we mean cold sweetened flavored drink
  • “Nintendo” when referring to any older video game console or system
  • “Photoshop” when we mean photo manipulation
  • “Ping Pong” when we mean table tennis
  • “Polaroid” when we mean instant photograph or instant camera
  • “Popsicle” when we mean an ice pop or any frozen confectionary treat on a stick
  • “Post-its” when we mean sticky notes
  • “PowerPoint” when we mean electronic presentation
  • “Q-tips” when we mean cotton swabs
  • “Rollerblade” when referring to inline skates
  • “Scotch Tape” when we mean clear adhesive tape
  • “Styrofoam” when we are referring to extruded polystyrene foam
  • “Super Heroes” when we mean superhero (“Super Heroes” is co-owned and trademarked by Marvel & DC Comics)
  • “Tampex” when referring to tampons
  • “Tupperware” when referring to any type of modular food storage containers
  • “Vaseline” when we mean petroleum jelly
  • “Velcro” when referring to any hook-and-loop fastener
  • “Walkie-Talkie” when referring to any portable handheld radio or two-way radio transceiver
  • “Walkman” when we mean portable personal stereo player
  • “WaveRunner” when referring to any personal watercraft
  • “Xerox” when we mean photocopier or to make a photocopy
  • “Ziplock Bags” when referring to any type of reusable, re-sealable zipper type storage bags
  • “Zippo” when referring to refillable lighters
So that's it...I need to get some naps as it is 2AM here and I have to be back at the office in less than 6 hours and might stay there for the next 16 hours or so. I promise to visit everyone later tonight.

Wish you all a great week!

My All Time Favorite Shoes

I have been under the weather and still trying to kick my asthma away.

Finally I was able to take some quick shots of my shoes. I am a lover of shoes and when I move (temporary only due to work) here in Bacolod I grabbed with me some of my favorite shoes!

Here they are!

These two are in my top list --

These are all gifts from the IT Guy!

Then I have my last minute shoes...these are pairs which always come in rescue. They come very handy going to office to pair with my slacks and even jeans!

You may have noticed the obvious, I love high heels! But then with the center opening and Mariposa checking the construction site and having to run around, these two have been badly abused by me for the past weeks...

This pair of Skechers have been with me for years now and only this year I get to wear it as much!

And this last one...I had to buy last minute on the way to Bacolod because I realized I did not have any flats...and I learned to really LOVE it!

As you can see, it shows how well worn it is! LOL But I LOVE this and this has become my all time fave for months now. I am seriously looking for an exact pair!

So that's it for my Fun Monday...I thank all who are playing. I need to run to the center now and will visit everybody later today. Wish you all a great week!

I am so happy to see some Fun Monday early birds --

Swampy (And if you scroll down a bit, you'll find some nice post which resonates out last week's theme which was friendship!)

Fun Monday - It's All About Friendship!

This is my first attempt to revive FUN MONDAY and my theme for this week is It's All About Friendship! Everything will be about friends and friendship...and I am so hoping and praying that people will get to join me this week.

I have been blogging to years now...make that 5 years this November specifically. This little space in the web have become so much part of me that I have met so many people and make friends with them. I have come to know friendship despite the distance...and friendship despite lack of personal meetings. Friends here have picked me up many times...and even in one of my downiest moment. I could never imagine talking to someone miles away whom I just get to know about through blogs just to make sure I am fine or otherwise. I have extended my home and family to theirs. And Fun Monday played a significant role in my friendship with people online. It was through Fun Monday that I get to circulate around blogosphere. I met so many wonderful people and have learned so many wonderful things from them...and this just makes me so sad to see it go.

My take for this week's theme is very simple...I want to thank all the people I have made friends with through Mariposa's Tales. You may have not realize it but you have made a great mark in my life and that I will forever cherish. Once again...this week's friendship is all about the friendship I have found in this little corner of the web...something special, beautiful and hopefully lasting! I will not mention names because if you are reading this, then  you are one of them. :)

Please visit other FUN MONDAY participants --

Fun Monday

I am not starting my week so right and in an effort to cheer myself up, I searched hard for Fun Monday host for this week. Finally I got to Sayre Smiles and I did not find what I was looking for. I couldn't believe what I read. Fun Monday is dead. No! I will try to do something, after all it's a fun activity and it's been going on for years now. It's the first meme that allowed me to meet so many wonderful people, I cannot allow it to end.

So I will try to revive it. I will make a monthly list of themes so that regardless if people volunteers to host it or not, I have the theme set already and anyone can link up with me and we visit each other. I am not sure if this will work but I am willing to give it a try. I am asking everyone who has joined Fun Monday to help me spread the word. I will post the list of theme at my sidebar Friday the latest. And to those who are new to the idea, I am inviting you to join.

I wanted to do Fun Monday because for the first time in many years, I have no idea how to cheer myself up and now I am just sadder with thought of Fun Monday totally gone. (((SIGH)))

I wish everyone a Fun Monday and I hope to see some of you next week!

And The Award Goes to...

Happy Monday everybody!

This week's Fun Monday is all about AWARDS! As we are ask --

...to think about the movies that you OWN. Not movies you've seen, but the ones you felt strongly enough to go out and buy. You will be your very own awards committee, awarding your movies an Oscar in the following categories:

BEST PICTURE, BEST ACTOR, BEST ACTRESS, BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR, BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS, BEST ANIMATED PICTURE, BEST SCORE and BEST GROUP (Some movies come out with several parts or sequels. Most everyone's got at least one set of something on their shelves - why that one?)

You can include your nominations if you wish, but I'd also like to know why you think your winner in each category deserves to win.

And this week's host is no other than the award winning herself, the lovely, SAYRE at Sayre Smiles.

This whole thing made me think and I have to think really hard as I have my own favorites, and I have lots of favorites!

Nominees for best actor in a leading role are --
* Tom Hanks for Forrest Gump
* Al Pacino for Scent of A Woman
* Roberto Benigni for Life Is Beautiful
* Anothony Hopkins for The Silence of the Lambs,

Best Actor in a Leading Role goes to --

Al Pacino for Scent of a Woman

In as much as I love Tom Hanks in Forrest Gump, I just can't get over with this scene from the movie Scent of a Woman. I will forever love Al Pacino for this one!

Nominees for best actor in a supporting role are --

* Heath Ledger - The Dark Knight
* Al Pacino - The Godfather
* Jack Nicholson - A Few Good Men

Best Actor in a Supporting Role goes to --

Heath Ledger for The Dark Knight

He certainly did a good job for the role and best deserves this award. I am a Batman fan but there is no harm appreciating the villain sometimes I guess. :)

Nominees for best actress in a leading role are --

* Julia Roberts - Erin Brockovich
* Juliette Binoche - Chocolat
* Diane Lane - Unfaithful
* Meryl Streep – The Devil Wears Prada
* Vivien Leigh for Gone With the Wind

Best Actress in a Leading Role goes to --

Vivien Leigh for Gone With the Wind

Nominees for best actress in a supporting role are --

* Angelina Jolie for Girl, Interrupted as Lisa Rowe
* RenĂ©e Zellweger for Cold Mountain
* Eileen Heckart for Butterflies Are Free
* Lauren Bacall for The Mirror Has Two Faces
* Sally Field for Steel Magnolias

Best Actress in a Supporting Role goes to --

Sally Field for Steel Magnolias

I really LOVE Angelina Jolie's role as Lisa Rowe in the movie Girl, Interrupted and in as much as I wanted to give this award to her, I just can't turn away from Sally Field's mother role at Steel Magnolias. Her role in the movie reminds me of Mom and all her interactions with her daughter and all she did for her is just so like me and my Mom. So I chose her in honor of my Mom and all mothers who love their children and do so many sacrifices for them.

Best Animated Feature award goes to --

Kung Fu Panda

Though I'm not really big on animation, I did enjoy this movie much and thanks to IT Guy for convincing me to watch it. We ended up owning a copy and we've watch this several times already!

Nominees for Best Picture are --

* The Last Emperor
* Gone With the Wind
* A Star Is Born

Best Picture award goes to --
Gone With the Wind

Okay, by now it must have been obvious already that I am a fan of Gone With the Wind. I just LOVE both the book and the movie. There are alot of other deserving this award but I think this movie deserves it best!
Nominees for Best Cinematography are --

* Memoirs of a Geisha
* The Last Emperor
* Empire of the Sun
* Titanic
* Batman Forever
* The Dark Knight

Best Cinematography award goes to --

Memoirs of a Geisha

I am bias for this movie as I have an insider look of the Japanese culture. Though I would say there are some goofs in the movie, I still can't help but fall in love with this movie specially its cinematography.

And for BEST MOVIE GROUP, award goes to --

I LOVE Star Wars, all of it and everything about it! It rules the house...LOL

I still have some other awards in line but gezz, I'm running out of breath already, I'd rather start my rounds and see what others have.

I wish you all an award-winning week!

P.S.

I'm not good with promoting links, but well if you have the time, you may want to read some of the Health and Wellness Tips I have at the sidebar. I promise they are all really good reads!

My Home Inside My Home

Life According to Jan and Jer are our Fun Monday hosts for the week. And well they say --

As your hostess this week...here is what I dreamed up! The big question is ....What is the favorite room in your home? Tell us why and show us a photo if you can.

I am guessing most people would say it's their bedroom, but well not for Mariposa. I am rarely in my bedroom when I am home! LOL

The past months, I've been spending most of my time at the kitchen. Lately I find myself baking some cakes or pastries or just trying out some new recipes. This is something new but I am seeing this to last very long.

This is the snapshot of the small kitchen where I always bake the famous Mariposa's Lengua de Gato and Banana cake. I say famous because lately I've been getting huge orders and more than the money I am making I am enjoying the feeling of it, SO MUCH!

This was before the repainting project...I apologize I don't have  a very recent photo as I just got back from a trip and is recovering from flu.

Just when the IT Guy was ready to take a shot, the nephew came running to make sure he joins in the photo shoot! LOL

Next photo shows Mariposa and the nephew more settled! I am having such a good relationship with this cute oven of mine! It doesn't eat space, it serves my need and is very gas efficient.

My next favorite part of the house is not really a room, it's the garden! I LOVE staring at the greens and I love tending the plants.

In the garden is also where I play with the nephew! IT Guy and I spend some of our lazy Sunday afternoon here playing with the nephew.

And that's it for my Fun Monday post, you just have my home inside my home. Let me head over to our hosts to check what the others have...

I wish all you a great week!

Hands Off

It's a Monday and I'm not so alive to start my week. My throat is kind of dry and my entire body is aching...and this is already way better compared to yesterday's. I had a massage last night and it made me feel better but that not enough to make me start my week.

But well, it's Fun Monday so here goes!

Lil Mouse is hosting this week and this week's topic is about chores. She wants to know what our least favorite chore!

Well this is easy, what about I am indifferent to all of them? Ha!

The IT Guy always tell me I can't survive living on my own as I don't do or help with the chores at home. Well, Mom raised me up well and taught me how to perform most of the household chores from doing the laundry, ironing the clothes, cleaning the house, cooking, washing the dishes and all that but she never made me obligated to do them. She's always around...so that made me princess! LOL

Anyway, there are things that I love to do and they are cooking, taking care of the interior design of the house and gardening. I do clean sometimes, but my allergies to dust makes me try to run away from that chore. I also can't stand cleaning the toilet as I hate those liquids that we use to clean. If you get me exposed to those, I'll be sneezing for the entire day!

But I love to stay in the kitchen. I love to cook and I love to bake. The thing is I never liked washing the dishes. I just don't like wetting my hands at all. I prefer to use alcogel for my hands than to wash them. And no, they're not dry I just don't like the idea of wetting them all the time and exposing them to waters for a long time. And I have a lot of reasons - they don't do any good to my nails (yes you can laugh!), they make the life span of my nail polish too short and it makes my skin peel off!

So Mariposa has to wear gloves every time she's in the sink washing something like this one!

There...I was facing one of my dreaded chore...armed with gloves! LOL I will do anything so as just my hands don't get wet!

I will visit every one later...I need to rest, I can't miss work today as the boss is coming. (((SIGH)))

I wish you all a great week ahead!

Things I Look Forward To in 2010

Hi folks! How did you find the new year so far? We're all moving great it seems, don't you think so? Well today's the first Monday of the year 2010 and it's going to be FUN and meaningful!

I'm your host for Fun Monday this week, the first for the year and I am just so excited to read what you have for this week.

I know most of you probably have their list of New Year's resolution, I'm not going to ask for those. What I'm interested to know are the things you are looking forward to this year. It could be an event, a date, or anything. You can add photos if you want!

The reason why I chose this topic is very simple. I am a person who is a sucker for looking forward to something. Huh! Is there such a thing? No, not so much on the planning part but really more on the looking forward to a lot of things and as time goes by I get to develop plans around it. That's how I am. And yes, I complain I have insomnia I guess that caused that, too much thought, too much imagination.

For this year, trust me there are so many things I look forward to. And I don't mean wish list. These are the things I know will happen regardless and I am so looking forward to them.

I am looking forward to --

- Cebu's biggest festival the Sinulog! We always have it every middle of January and it's always fun, as you can in my Sinulog post for 2008.

- Chinese New Year on Feb. 14. (The new year's eve will be on the 13th!) As some of you know, we always celebrate Chinese new year and it's always fun and we always do it with a bang. (You can check our past Chinese Year celebrations for years 2008 and 2009!) This is something I really look forward to. I love wearing red silk on this day. I love the food, the fruits and the visit to the temple. Call me crazy but I'm already starting to plan the menu, and the number of people to invite since it falls on a weekend. I guess it will be nice hosting a party at new year's eve!

- May 8! IT Guy and I will turn another year together. We plan to go out of country for a vacation and he is in charge of the planning. So I am so excited with what he has in mind. :)

- They say this year is a good year to make grand changes, be it a career move, moving to a new location, and even marital status. I am so looking forward to that too. (I refuse to share more details for now! LOL)

- I am also looking forward to a meeting that will take place middle this month. It will be with an old business associate. Nothing fix on this, but I am crossing my fingers hoping to get that good career move I just mentioned. (I promise to share more about it soon!)

- My birthday as I will turn 31 come August!

- The birthdays of my loved ones as I always do the preparation for them, be it small or grand. ;)

- Reading more books! (Some of the gifts we received last Christmas were books.)

- And believe it or not, I am so looking forward to next Christmas already. I just happen to have a new theme for your Christmas decor and I can't wait to try them already! Geez!

I guess those are the things I look forward to in 2010 at a glance. I'm sure there will be more as time goes by but it feels good to have something to look forward to as early as now. If there is one thing that helped me get by, they're the things I looked forward to. It made me conquered difficult times because I know there are good things waiting for me in the coming days. I hope we all have a good list of things to look forward to this year.

If you are joining Fun Monday please sign up below so others can visit you. For the others, I invite you to make your quick list. Trust me it feels good after. I wish you all a happy Monday and a wonderful week!

[ADD] Let me know if you want to host Fun Monday next week!

Mariposa's Christmas Decor

So glad to be back to Fun Monday before ending the year!

The lovely Gattina is hosting this week and her task for this week is --

Just take a picture of one Christmas ornament which you love the most, explain why, and if you don't have any explanations it's also OK. For those who haven't celebrated Christmas, just take a picture of something else you love as decoration.

This is quite easy to do and I have more than one. I remember doing a similar theme in my first year with Fun Monday, but of course I'm not posting that old photo. ;)

First off, here is my Christmas tree! This year I did not so many decors like I used to but I decided to bring the tree out the porch. This is a favorite decor as there was no Christmas without it. So here it is with its lights. I love them in evening...it feels nice listening to the lights sing those Christmas carols.

Then under the tree is where my gifts are. (I know there are not decors but I love them and my Christmas tree is not complete without them!) I love wrapping gifts and moreso the fun of distributing them to friends and families. Here is my taking a short break with my wrapping of gifts adventure. Iwas not halfway then...but the IT Guy asked me to pose and so the obedient me did as he told me and you see there one harassed butterfly! LOL

And my most favorite Christmas decor of all is the Nativity! And most especially this one as this was given by a friend 12 years ago. One of my most treasured decor. For 12 years I have kept it and I intend to keep it forever. By the way, here in my place we this Belen. We always display the Nativity in our living room every Christmas. It's not so big we can put it on top of a table, a low shelves, etc.

So that's it. Let me go and visit the others now and see what they have. I hope you all had a Merry Christmas and a wonderful 2010!

Hugs and Kisses,

Fun Monday: Getting To Know You!

Happy Fun Monday everyone!

First my apologies for my late post, I went to Bohol (a nearby island) to visit my Grandfather's tomb. It's All Souls' Day here.

This week's activity is about --

Most of use have been blogging for sometime yet some of us just met recently or only get in touch every Fun Monday. So next week, I will be asking 2 things --

(1) Share something which you wish your readers would know about you. It could be something you feel you might need to clarify/ share, etc.

(2) Ask three questions to your readers, and I mean all readers, whether participants of Fun Monday or not. The questions should be generic so that all your readers can answer them and that it will help you get to know your readers more.

Here goes mine;

First off, if there's one thing I want my readers to know about it, I guess I can sum them up in bullet points --
  • I'm Filipina, and I'm based in Cebu City, Philippines
  • IT Guy is the love of my life (in case some of you wonders who he is!)
  • I'm very close to my family, and that includes extended family.
  • I love butterflies, thus I call myself Mariposa (Spanish of butterfly).
  • This site is such a part of me that I can't imagine shutting it down! And I so enjoyed the people I meet here.
Now that I shared some little facts about myself, I hope you can tell me about yourself --
  • Where are you from? (No need to be so specific, country, state, province is enough!)
  • Please share something that is specific to where you're from. Anything your place is known or famous for, etc. (For instance, Cebu is known for nice beaches, guitars, dried mangoes, etc.)
  • Pick one thing which you can associate yourself with.
I'd like to thank the following people for joining Fun Monday, it's always nice to get to know people!

Getting To Know You

Ok...that's it! I hope many will participate. I'm also inviting everyone who stops by to join as I believe this is an amazing way of bonding with our readers and blogger friends.

Wish you all a fun weekend. I'm off to Bohol, a nearby island and will just add participant's name when I get back. (Not sure if the farm has internet access.)

Sunday Morning Getup

It's a sunny Monday here and what a nice feeling to be back into blogging! I have spent the past Mondays cramming...and today I'm just taking it easy. What a joy!

Now that I'm back, there is no way I'm going to miss Fun Monday. Gattina at Writer Cramps is our lovely host for the week and her week assignment is - What are you wearing when you get out of your bed on a Sunday morning. Of course I want to see a picture of what you wear, with you inside or not.

Cool! I have to dig my archives...and well luckily it did not take me forever to find some old photos. (I'm so late to take new sets, and again this is supposed to be a relaxing Monday...I don't want to cram.)

So Gattina, here goes Mariposa's week entry! ;)

I live in the tropics so unless there is a bad weather, you rarely get to see me in long pants or long sleeves outfit at home...in my sleep. (And the AC is not enough to make wear them as well!)

Below are photos of Mariposa's typical outfit on a Sunday morning...or make that every morning.

Though the first two photos were at the beach, trust me if you go to my house anytime of the day (weekeday or weekends) you will see in outfits like those...spaghetti straps for my top and a short pants for my bottom. I also sleep in those outfits...and I can run to the nearby grocery stores in those outfits too! The last photo is a last minute shot. That is also a typical sleepwear...and what I happen to wear last night. I apologize I have to crop it...I just want to censor my post on a Monday morning. Bleh! :P

So that's it for me...let me check the rest! Wish you all a kickass week!

A Fun Week!

It's 5AM here and it's a Monday!

Today is Eid ul-Fitr and is a holiday here. Not a manic Monday for me but I have to be at the office later around 9AM for some magazine interview...anyhow it feels good to be doing FUN MONDAY again!

Sayre Smiles is our lovely hostess this week and she said -- If you had a WEEK with no obligation and money was no object, what would you do with it?

Ha! This is FUN! Let's see --

It's a week...so I have 7 days...168 hours.

Day 1 - Will be my super lazy day. I'll be at the farm of my Grandparents watch sunrise sipping coffee...munching some toasted bread with strawberry jam! It will not end there of course as I plan to sit on my @$$ the whole day doing/thinking nothing but just listening to some nice country music. I'm going to spoil myself with lots of fruits especially watermelon. Then comes the sunset...and I'm going to enjoy the sunset sipping margarita! Then I'm going to meet silver moon...stare at it for awhile...and hopefully by then I've had enough margaritas that I'll just pass out...

Day 2 - I will be up feeling to refresh and alive...knowing I have nothing to do! I'm going to visit my farm...plow and harvest and fill it with buildings, fences, flowers, paths and other decorations. But of course, I'm talking about my Farmtown and Farmville accounts at Facebook! Day 2 will be about the Internet. I will blog...read blogs...and play!

Day 3 - I will be at one with sea. I will go island hopping....watch dolphins...do SCUBA diving and will enjoy the sun and the sands! I need lots of fresh orange juice for this...and watermelon too! In the evening I'm going to stay at the shoreline...stare at the bonfire...and will summon every person I wish to talk to 'til dusk. How cool!

Day 4 - Since there is no budget constraints...I'm going to have some shopping spree with families and friends. And since shopping can stressful too, we will have some nice time at the spa after.

Day 5 - This day will be with the IT Guy. (Just one day because I can't assume he has this super nice week with no obligation or anything...LOL) We'll go to places he wants us to go...do whatever he wants...in the evening, I'm going to luck myself with him all night!

Day 6 - This will be my fantasy day. I'm going to take a very important role in business or government and will have an office there for a day. I will end the day with a very nice champagne dinner with VIPs.

Day 7 - I will be very busy organizing a birthday party for a very good friend. I'm going to call all his friends and will give him a surprise party! We will be singing....dancing...eating...drinking...'til we drop!

Happy birthday Sage!

I wish you all the best....CHEERS!

The Clutter In My Room...

Gattina is hosting this week's Fun Monday...and well she wanted to know what I call...messy place! Gosh...Gattina you are forcing me to reveal my not so good side! Ha ha ha!

Okay...modesty set aside...my room is neat and always in place. And that is because I have a very organized Mom! It has nothing to do with me.

I love a neat and well-ordered place...just that I always reserve myself some space for my war room...aside from the clutter in my head of course! ;)

In my bed room I have that special place where I just toss and do my last minute thing. I don't do my make-up here...it's those things which you remember when you're about to go...either you need to do or unload or the things I do in between my sleep. LOL

So here is my working dresser...this is an old dresser of mine, got this since I was 9 I guess.

As you can see I have there my cheating lotion, ummm...I mean natural glow thingy...yah know when I'm to run out the door and remember I wanted some tint in my legs! Then you have my perfume...the heart shaped. Though I have my place for them, that shows it's my recent scent because it's there. I guess I used it last night. Then you have the mint oils and Vicks Vaporub...I use them in between sleep...sometimes. Then are some lip gloss...and my small box where I just toss jewelry I just used...so they stay there before I put them back to the jewelry box, unless I decide to wear them again the next day.

This is the other side of the dresser...you have there my facial astringent and moisturizer. Loose powder of the nephew...another cellphone...and other things which mess it up!

I think that is the only messy part of my bedroom...but let me take you to that special room I had them built for my stuff.

Here it is!

I have so many papers...most of them are my works so I can't just throw them way. I still have to review them and arrange them. They've been there since we move here about 2 years ago!

Other books which I still have to re-arrange, labeled and add to my "library" at home.

And another angle of the mess...

Did I gross you out?! These are just stuff which other people here at home don't dare arrange without me around. I need to be the one doing that as I have my own way of arranging things and labeling them. I just hope I find time to do all these things soon...

That's what I consider a messy place Gattina! Please visit her to see others take on this week's fun theme...

Wish you all a happy Monday!

Happy Fun Monday!

I'm hosting FUN Monday...woohoo!

My theme or topic is something that just came out and I apologize in advance if you find it a bit corny...but hey, I'd wish you all would participate as they say, being corny sometimes helps us stay young at heart! ;)

Let's talk about TEARS. What images spring to mind when you hear the word ‘tears’? Have you ever had tears of laughter and tears of joy? When was the last time you had tears of joy? Tears of laughter? Tell us about it!

What's with the topic?! Well I love crying...not that I am a sentimental person...just that CRYING for me is something we human beings are blessed with. Show me a person who do not appreciate the fact that he/she knows how to cry!

So what images spring to mind when I hear the word 'tears'? Well so many wonderful things...even the sad things that made me cry, they're wonderful to me as they all made me stronger. Yet...as weird as this may sound, when you ask me when was the last time I cried there is a greater chance that what I'll remember would be some happy moments!

Tears are words the heart can't express.

When I am too overwhelmed with joy or when I am overpowered with something I can't explain...I CRY. I guess it's my mind and my heart's way of telling me to just enjoy the feeling and stop bothering to know what it is.

I cry every Christmas...on my birthdays...when I watch a happy movie...when I get a surprise call from friends....when I see old friends again...when I read my old journals/diary...when I play with my nephew. I cry when I am happy. Even when I go to mass (Sunday service or other occasions) I cry during communion (though not always)...I cry when I see other people's happy...I cry when I hear success stories...

And I always feel good after!

Take note...when I say I cry...they can be just little tears in my eyes...not that I whimper! LOL

Not so long ago I had dinner with the IT Guy and I think he said something like he never thought he can be as happy...it was something so sweet and nice I cried. Well...we both cried. (And this is something TMI, but well...have you ever made love to your partner that it was so good that you cried after?! Because I have those moments!)

I cry every time I go shopping wit Mom...every time we play (yes we still do!). I grew up thinking we've lost her and well we still have her 'til now and it just feels so good having her around. And with Mom around...we (not just me) most of the time LOL 'til we got choked with our own tears because she has so much humor!

I cry every time Dad comes to me and hug me and ask me how I am....because in as much as I know he loves me (us) he rarely do that.

I cry every time I go through my cousins Facebook accounts...because it seems only yesterday when I was helping my Aunt feed them...and how they've grown and how proud I am for them...and I cry more every time they say they want to be like me! (What have I done to deserve that! LOL)

I cried in the plane on the way to Cebu thinking how R and his kids spent time with me...and how I enjoyed the company their company and how I feel loved and important!

I cried last night when the nephew saw the scar in my arm (remember that accident?!) and he almost cried and asked "Yayay?" (anything painful here is referred to as yayay by children) and then he kissed the scar...and hugged me like he was comforting me. Wow...even children can offer comfort!

Okay...maybe I am sentimental! Or maybe not...doesn't matter! LOL

Please sign up below if you are joining so others can visit you. I look forward to hearing from you people...

Wish you all a very happy Monday!

I need a host for next week... ;)
