Love Come...

beautiful and calm,
like the misty rains pouring
softly, LOVE has come

flowing so gently
but flooding the river, our LOVE
has become madness

what is not madness
cannot be called LOVE, they say
this must be LOVE, huh?!

you said you LOVE me
tell me not in crafted words
why do you LOVE me?

...and Go

since the day you left
every day is a torment
a ceaseless waiting

the torment it reaks
affects me in many ways
that's how much you're missed!

hunger for your LOVE
is worst than hunger for bread
please come and fill me

Below is not an original work again, as I am not able come up with a photo with a Bible verse and IT Guy is getting ready for his out of town trip, so I just grab this one. I love this verse and I got this from Webshots Family.

Today We Remember...

...all the brave soldiers who gave their lives for our country in our own way...

It's quite a Monday for Mariposa today...and I'm posting ALL my Monday Fever activities late...they say better late than never, so here goes!

Manic Monday's theme this week is STAR, in celebration of Memorial Day. I'm not from the US, but I joined you guys in prayers for all men who had served...and are in military service. YOU are ALL STARS, not just today, but everyday. May God bless YOU all!

FUN Monday today is hosted by
Alison! This week theme is -

Vacations...this is the time of year when most of us go on vacations. Show us and/or tell us about your favorite vacation - where you went, what you did, etc. Pictures would be great. Let's all take a trip around a the world via our FM friends!!

Well, for those who had been reading my blogs, you already know that I've travelled alot...so this is a quite challenging theme for me.

So let me just link you to places I've been that I've blogged about. Sorry guys if this sounds like cheating...but I'm late...why reinvent the wheel?! LOL

My visit to
Machu Picchu was fantastic! Then I also love Jura National Park in France... The ever famous Taj Mahal was so beautiful...and them asking me to take off my shoes got the better of me! Sweden will always be a place I'd love to go back to... HongKong will never be overrated for me with the IT Guy around...

And finally, nothing beats the place of my Mom! I don't really have to go far to enjoy...just recently, I've had one of the greatest vacation I've had...nothing fancy...yet it allowed to try so many things! Truly one of my most
wonderful times!

I hope you are not too lazy to follow the links...there are picture and stories there...I swear! LOL

Hope you had fun clicking...

And finally...Monday will never be complete without Music! So here is my Music Monday entry... This is exactly how I feel...unwell...just a little unwell, a little impaired at times...but not crazy!

All day
Staring at the ceiling
Making friends with shadows on my wall
All night
Hearing voices telling me
That I should get some sleep
Because tomorrow might be good for something
Hold on
I'm feeling like I'm headed for a
Breakdown
I don't know why
I'm not crazy, I'm just a little unwell
I know, right now you can't tell
But stay awhile and maybe then you'll see
A different side of me
I'm not crazy, I'm just a little impaired
I know, right now you don't care
But soon enough you're gonna think of me
And how I used to be
Me
Talking to myself in public
Dodging glances on the train
I know
I know they've all been talking 'bout me
I can hear them whisper
And it makes me think there must be something wrong
With me
Out of all the hours thinking
Somehow
I've lost my mind
I'm not crazy, I'm just a little unwell
I know, right now you can't tell
But stay awhile and maybe then you'll see
A different side of me
I'm not crazy, I'm just a little impaired
I know right now you don't care
But soon enough you're gonna think of me
And how I used to be
I been talking in my sleep
Pretty soon they'll come to get me
Yeah, they're taking me away
I'm not crazy, I'm just a little unwell
I know, right now you can't tell
But stay awhile and maybe then you'll see
A different side of me
I'm not crazy I'm just a little impaired
I know, right now you don't care
But soon enough you're gonna think of me
And how I used to be
Hey, how I used to be
How I used to be, yeah
Well I'm just a little unwell
How I used to be
How I used to be

Women's Humor

WARNING: You will find a reason to smile at the bottom of this post. (I hope so!!!) So don't get to the bottom just yet because I need you to read the following text to make your trip to the bottom of this post worthwhile.

Edge Designs is an all-women run company that designs interior office space. And they had a recent opportunity to do an office project in NYC.

The client allowed the women of this Company a free hand in all design aspects. The client was a company that was also run by all women executives...

The result.......well.....

We all know that Men never talk, never look at each other...
And never laugh much in the restroom...

The men's room is a serious and quiet place...

But now...with the addition of one mural on the wall...let's just say the men's restroom is now a place of laughter and smiles.

Here is the men's restroom mural...

And they say women don't have a sense of humor?!

This goes to all women who need a smile today and to all men who can take having a little fun poked at them after all they are always trying to poke a little something at us. *wink*

Let's Learn English!

My first time to join Smiley Saturday...

I hope the article below makes you smile!

Let's face it -- English is a crazy language. There is no egg in eggplant nor ham in hamburger; neither apple nor pine in pineapple. English muffins weren't invented in England or French fries in France. Sweetmeats are candies while sweetbreads, which aren't sweet, are meat.

We take English for granted. But if we explore its paradoxes, we find that quicksand can work slowly, boxing rings are square and a guinea pig is neither from Guinea nor is it a pig.

And why is it that writers write but fingers don't fing, grocers don't groce and hammers don't ham? If the plural of tooth is teeth, why isn't the plural of booth beeth? One goose, 2 geese. So one moose, 2 meese? One index, 2 indices?

Doesn't it seem crazy that you can make amends but not one amend, that you comb through annals of history but not a single annal? If you have a bunch of odds and ends and get rid of all but one of them, what do you call it?

If teachers taught, why didn't preacher praught? If a vegetarian eats vegetables, what does a humanitarian eat? If you wrote a letter, perhaps you bote your tongue?

Sometimes I think all the English speakers should be committed to an asylum for the verbally insane. In what language do people recite at a play and play at a recital? Ship by truck and send cargo by ship? Have noses that run and feet that smell? Park on driveways and drive on parkways?

How can a slim chance and a fat chance be the same, while a wise man and wise guy are opposites? How can overlook and oversee be opposites, while quite a lot and quite a few are alike? How can the weather be hot as hell one day and cold as hell another.

Have you noticed that we talk about certain things only when they are absent? Have you ever seen a horseful carriage or a strapful gown? Met a sung hero or experienced requited love? Have you ever run into someone who was combobulated, gruntled, ruly or peccable? And where are all those people who ARE spring chickens or who would ACTUALLY hurt a fly?

You have to marvel at the unique lunacy of a language in which your house can burn up as it burns down, in which you fill in a form by filling it out and in which an alarm clock goes off by going on.

English was invented by people, not computers, and it reflects the creativity of the human race (which, of course, isn't a race at all). That is why, when the stars are out, they are visible, but when the lights are out, they are invisible. And why, when I wind up my watch, I start it, but when I wind up this essay, I end it.
~ I just got this from an email so I can't really acknowledge the owner!

Feast One Hundred & Ninety One

Appetizer

What is the nearest big city to your home?

Well, I live in the city...Cebu City is quite big...next would be Manila and Davao. Manila being the capital city of the Philippines and Davao being the largest city here in terms of land area.

Soup

On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being highest, how well do you keep secrets?

I would say 9! I will not compromise any information even at the point of death, especially if I know what are the consequences of it being divulged.

Salad

Describe your hair (color, texture, length).

My hair naturally is black, I'm Asian! But early last year I dyed it...from a quick look, it would look like dark brown...yet when hit by light you see a range of colors...from auburn...to light and dark brown...something like that. My hair is layered...so some are shoulder length and the longest strands are elbow length.

Main Course

What kind of driver are you? Courteous? Aggressive? Slow?

I'm an aggressive driver...but I am courteous to those who follow traffic rules... I just hate slow drivers...I'm sorry. But lately, I rarely drive...it's just way too stressful for me.

Dessert

When was the last time you had a really bad week?

I am having one right now...read the post before this and you'll know!

Care To Know...

...what I'm going through?!

"Mourn the losses because they're many, Celebrate the victory because they're few!"

I don't necessarily know who I am every day of the week. Today I am a person I don't know at all. I just feel a total CRAP today.

I have fever...colds...and my whole body aches! And I'm about to call my engagement off!

When it rains...it simply pours...damn how it pours a lot!

Ah, and I've tried writing this post three times.

To sum up: These feelings? They just don't go away.

P.S. What's the quote for? Nothing, just want it there at the top!

Fun n' Music on a Manic Monday!

It's another beautiful Monday once again my dear friends...another day to celebrate life and our gifts of family and friends!

It's Monday Fever again for Mariposa so kindly scroll down for Fun...Music...Manic Monday entries!

It's Manic Doodle Monday today! And Mo committed to donate 50¢
to Cat Friends Helping Friends for very blog that post a doodle of a cat and leave their links at Manic Monday.

I'm not so fond of cats but the IT Guy loves cats...and in as much as I want to support this initiatives...I just can't come up with my own doodle last minute so instead I'm posting this doodle demo by Petitangegris, hope you have fun!

Fun Monday this week is hosted by the Sauntering Soul and she sets the following theme -

"I know we all try to be sweet and kind to people the majority of the time. But let's face it....we also know that sometimes we can be a big jerk. It could be that you experience road rage from time to time. Perhaps you empty the coffee pot at work some mornings and don't feel like taking the time to start a new pot for the next person. Or maybe you don't return phone calls on a timely basis when you know someone needs a response from you. Have you ever "accidentally" ruined a favorite shirt of your spouse just because you didn't care for it? Come on - it's confession time! List the small things you do that make you a jerk and elaborate just a bit on each one. Please tell me I'm not the only jerk around here!"

I found a very interesting definition online, and it says -

Jerk is sarcastic, mean, unforgiving and never misses an opportunity to make a cutting remark. - Source

Hmmm...this is a bit of a challenge for me, really. Oh no, not because I've never been a jerk...but because I think I AM most of the time...especially at work when I am with my "mentally challenged" colleagues!

So, let me tell you a very recent moment I had with a colleague! I call her 32 of her mental speed. Our PC now has at least 2GB of memory (well mostly) so with that said, it's like that is the normal curve of memory capacity right now...but hers? Ha! she got stuck at 32 Kb (take note, small b for bits not bytes!) That how slow she is!

So the other week, we were in a restaurant and we were having dinner with client. It was dinner buffet with a wide selection of food...from Asian...American...European. Of course, Mariposa, who is crazy with sushi and sahimi...(remember that POST?!) I chose nothing but sushis and sashimis!

We're not really into good terms because I'm a jerk and she's 32! LOL So I was minding my business when she said it out loud - "Why do we have to use chopsticks when we are into modern times and we have invented spoons and forks?" Worst, she said that pointing at me because I was with chopsticks!

I have been using chopsticks since I was a kid...so I can use it so well. BUT that did not prompt me to be judgemental towards people who does not know how to use them. In fact, I'm compassionate to people who does not know how and I most of the time, take time teaching them! But to mind people who uses chopsticks on their sushis and sashimis, c'mon!!!

So I looked at her and asked her does she like sushi? Because I can get her some using my chopsticks because modern inventions like spoons and forks (which are metals!) alters the taste of the sushi so it's not wise to use those on them! (I know it's a crazy idea but my Japanese GrandMa used to tell me that, so she either use wood or ceramic chopsticks...at worst her hand! See? Spoon and Fork were not options!) And I offered help because I know she does not know how to use the chopsticks!

I was so ready to let it go when I saw her still continue making a fuss on it...then comes my turn! She was using the wrong knife for her bread...and was using the wrong fork for her salad...and she forgot to put her napkin on her lap...it was on her freaking table mat the whoel freaking time! So I looked at her and told her...use this for your salad...that for the butter of your bread...and you don't eat your appetizers with your dessert!

So I look at everybody and told them, well, I think regardless if we use chopsticks or those modern inventions...the most important thing to remember is to know how and when to use them...ah, my Mom calls that table manners!!! Next topic! ROFL

She got so embarrassed I guess that she left early...but we hardly notice her absence...after all, 32Kb does not mean a lot! I'm not sorry...not a bit...not at all! THAT was nothing compared to ALL the things she did to me and other people at work! For some of you who has been reading my blog for over a year would know how much stress and emotional turmoil this b*tch had caused me...and I'm so ready to forget compassion if it's about her!

I know...Jerk begets Jerk! :P

Wow! I never thought I could blog about it...never told anyone about it except the IT Guy! LOL

I will be hosting next week's Fun Monday...so please be back tomorrow for the theme...I'm inviting youn ALL to join the fun!

The IT Guy who religously updates the content of my iPod changed all its songs to Beatles! I'm so happy...so for the past days, I'm listening to Beatles...and how I love them. So for my Music Monday...I'm posting the female version of Yesterday. This is Syesha Mercado of the American Idol...I think this is one of her best performance ever!

Sunday Siesta!

To all mothers in the world...

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!

I already did my share...

It's Sunday afternoon here and I'm bored...yet too tired to go out. So we just decided to let the masseurs to come to the house so we don't have to go out to get a massage...I'm supposed to go swimming but I'm canceling that one...well, moving it to tomorrow actually!

As usual I'm into my TribalWars...and I have acquired 2 villages for the past 36 hours. Sweet! :P

Other than that...nothing...well, I'm checking my GMAIL and see if somebody sent me some mail! LOL

And so I snatched this Meme from Grey...feel free to do this when bored!

1- Your favorite cheese?

Sakura cheese (桜 which means "cherry"), a soft cheese from Hokkaido, Japan. This cheese is a creamy white, and is flavored with mountain cherry leaves. If I remember it right, this cheese got an award in a "Mountain Cheese Olympics"?! ;)

2- Your favorite milk?

Fresh milk! I can only take cold milk...for whatever reason, hot milk makes my tummy ache!

3-Your favorite chips?

Fish n' Chips to be specific...I love the fish and the deep-fried chipped potatoes!

Poetry For My Crappiness!

you made me angry
below are the things you do
which makes me angry

anger covers pain
so i'd rather get angry
than get myself hurt

so, was i angry?
not really! it was my LOVE
too much LOVE for us

* * *

I'm angry because you are sweet.
I'm angry because you worry when I don't look well...when I am not well.
I'm angry because you ask what's wrong, listens, and gives good advice.
I'm angry because you care about your reputation and mine.
I'm angry because you have the deepest eyes...the softest caress.
I'm angry because you and only you can give me that warm, soft, firm kiss.
I'm angry because you have the most beautiful smile.
I'm angry because you are so intelligent, witty, kind, and such a badass.
I'm angry because I can talk to you for hours and you will listen whether regardless if you care or not.
I'm angry because every time I try to run/ go away, you are always there when I come back. I'm angry because every time I do that you seek me out yourself.
I'm angry because you seem to know me too well.
I'm angry because you can talk me into anything, through anything.
I'm angry because you try without trying too hard.
I'm angry because you tend to hold people to high but decent standards.

I'm angry because it's seems the only emotion that hurts the least.

Let Me Tell The World...

Thirteen Things about Mariposa and IT Guy

Yummy (aka IT Guy) and I turn 5 years today! Yes, it's been five years folks, they couldn't believe it...I couldn't believe it, but it's true! We made it!!!

So, today, I would like to share to you 13 weird facts about Mariposa and the IT Guy! These things could have been the reason why we are still together despite ALL odds!

(1) I sent the IT Guy three white roses and a card when we were still friends...I mean, before "us". Yup...yup...I am THAT crazy before, well, I am still now. :D

(2) The IT Guy does not drink ALOT because he gets tipsy easily while I don't...so sometimes, people stare our table because he gets the iced tea while I get beer (or tequila)! LOL

(3) We both love to listen to music...and we have about the same type of music that we listen to.

(4) On some weekends, we drive south of the island...THAT is how we spend time together. So either we leave so early to see sunrise in our favorite spot....and wait for sunset on the road before we go home.

(5) We jog/ walk every Sunday morning!

(6) IT Guy is not a typical guy in a sense that he knows how to get me my stuff...like, he can buy me shoes/ bags/ dress perfectly! By that I mean, I love them, they fit me well and they ALL look good on me. I figured the reason for this is he usually accompanies me when I go shopping...so he knows my taste and style! LOL

(7) We both know our past...yup, the good ones and the dark ones and we have accepted them. I think this is one reason why we are so comfortable with each other.

(8) The IT Guy is 7 years older than me.

(9) IT Guy changes the songs in my iPod regularly...see, I don't care much about it...so before I go to work, he just puts it in my bag an if I need some music, I listened to it and feels good to listen to different mix of songs with the thought that he picked those for me! Then in the morning, he gets them back....

(10) With #9, yes, you can presume that he drives me to work and pick me up from work most of the time! I work in the evening and he works in day time...so after his work, he goes to the house...we usually have dinner together...then I go to work, and in the morning, he picks me up and drops me home before he goes to work... Yes, he deserves an award for that.

(11) He is the ONLY man whom I have courage to introduce to my parents as my BF. The others in the past were like they (my family) just figured it out...but IT Guy?! Ha! He was more formal and serious...and I love him for that. He was never intimated by my Mom (Mom is more intimidating than Dad!) or should I say...he managed it so WELL then.

(12) We are both crazy with online games!

(13) We are getting married next year!
