Auld Lang Syne!!!

In response to Wholly Burble's post...here is my Fun Music Monday entry.

I just love this song that I can't help but echoes her song...

So here is another entry of Auld Lang Syne...

To say how grateful I am for all my friends is such an understatement...after all, they say, our greatest assets are the people who care for us...then I realize, how wealthy I am!

May peace break into your house
May thieves come to steal all your debts
May the pocket of your jeans be a magnet for lots of money
May love stick to your face like vaseline
May laughter assault your lips
May your clothes smell of success like smoking tires
May happiness slap you across the face
May your tears be that of joy
May the problems you had forget your home address
And may the Lord gift you with good health!

Happy New Year!!!

Cheers to a wonderful 2008!

Ciao 2007

I'm doing a quick review on what are the things that happened this year...not in any order of importance of course...

(1) I attended the COPC Training in Singapore. I met so many nice people and got my certification...it was a tough thing to go through, but now, I'm a COPC Registered Coordinator.

(2) My brother got married this year...

(3) Another year with Yummy!

(4) A new member of the family came! Baby Sean Hendrik, my nephew...

(5) I was able to drive to the south of Cebu island and enjoy sunrise!

(6) I was able to do several of crafts...here are samples.

(7) Joined Charity Walk.

(8) Life at work is becoming bearable as each day passes!

(9) Company's Christmas Party... Go...Q!!!

On the way to the party...

The Operations Managers...

With Christal from HCD...

Coffee after the party...

(10) Spend more time in the mall in the last month of the year...LOL

With Mom...

(11) I did some changes to my hair!

(12) I did get to know our Vendor Manager, and he is not an @$$ after all. It was in his second visit this year that I get to know him more. I was right for not judging him then though I know he had his biases against me... ;)

(13) This year had been financially better for me despite all the challenges I've had.

(14) Here is my partial review: Partial Audit Report - Mariposa 2007

(15) I have met wonderful people here in BLOGland...and that, I'm so grateful!

(16) And a lot more! Maybe my brain is just too overwhelmed to remember all right now...but these are monumental things that are so real to me as of the moment!

Note: Please excuse me for spoiling myself for posting lots of pics today...I'm just too visual right now!

Hey, It's Your Loss

You know, it could have been something awesome.

I could have treated you in ways that are usually saved for romance novels.

I could have respected your boundaries, yet pushed the envelope to enable you to explore feelings, emotions and excitement you have never experienced before.

You would have known the feeling of how it feels to have someone appreciate your essence, your very being.

You would have known the feeling of orgasms that only comes with the kind of real attention that comes from somebody who gets excited more by stimulating you than using you as a partner.
Experience and patience are tools that I could have deftly used to teach you how wonderful I could make you feel.

You know I am a “wonderful lady” and muse how lucky somebody ELSE would be to have my attention. But, you don’t think of me that way. With your eyes open, I just don’t do it for you. Too bad, you didn’t just close your eyes for a second and take a chance. I could have really made it worth your while.

In the end...it really was your loss.

Note: This was not directed to anyone specifically, or even in somebody’s general direction. It is just how I feel right now.

Faint Whisper of A Doubt

Sometimes...

Sometimes, I am just so grateful for what I have done, what I have...that the slightest, such a faint whisper, as if a feather of time had brushed past your procrastinating cheek (yes, what insolence!!!)...and tells me of the pressing guilt I bear, the infinite sadness I carry, that I couldn't be all that I could have been...

I never wanted to be anybody's anything...Anything at all.

I'm Way Too Cool For You...

So please...respect my space!

Beautiful Girls
by Jojo

I'm way too cool for ya boy
That's why it'll never work
I'll have you suicidal, suicidal
When I say it's over
Damn all these beautiful girls
We're only gonna do your dirt
We'll have you suicidal, suicidal
When I say it's over

Yeah yeah

I remember whenI was hanging with my friends
That's when I caught your eye
You thought that I was fly
Right then you wished that I would be your baby (be your baby)
You try to get some game
Asking me girl what ya name
All that ice upon ya chain
So I asked you the same
Something tells me that we have fun together (fun together)

I ain't easy to findI'm a one of a kind
Oh when I judge your wine
I know your only mine
Tonight is yours
Tomorrow is for another guy (another guy)

I'm way too cool for ya boy
That's why it'll never work
I'll have you suicidal, suicidal
When I say it's over
Damn all these beautiful girls
We're only gonna do your dirt
We'll have you suicidal, suicidal
When I say it's over

You've been calling me
Leaving messages all week
Was your curiousity
Got ya knees weak
I'm not looking for a man
So I don't want no confusion (no confusion)
I took ya to the floorGot ya begging me for more
But that was my queue to go
So I hit the door
I let you hot
With your mind used to running wild (running wild)

I ain't easy to findI'm a one of a kind
Oh when I judge your wine
I know your only mine
If you stick around
Be careful not to fall in love (fall in love)

I'm way too cool for ya boy
That's why it'll never work
I'll have you suicidal, suicidal
When I say it's over
Damn all these beautiful girls
We're only gonna do your dirt
We'll have you suicidal, suicidal
When I say it's over

Now a couple months have past
Never thought that this would last
Oh everybody asked
How ya got a girl like that
But you should've known
That nothing lasts forever (lasts forever)
I mashed up ya mind
When I tell you lies
But boy don't be suprised
That I'm seeing other guys
I'm too young to settle
And you should've known better (known better)

Damn all these beautiful girls (you should have known)
We're only gonna do your dirt (cos I'll have)
I'll have you suicidal, suicidal
When I say it's over

TMI Tuesday #115

1. What is your favorite holiday memory from when you were a kid?

Christmas is always "Noche Buena" with my family and opening gifts...and fireworks!

I'm now 28, I still love those three...

2. What is the "naughtiest" thing you have ever done under a Christmas tree?

I have never spent Christmas away from families...so, under the Christmas tree only means opening gifts!

3. On a scale of 1-10, how "good" were you this year?

9?! Why? Because I think 10 would be too much, and I think this year, I was almost too much... ;)

4. How long have you been playing TMI? Regularly?

I'm new to this one....this is only my second week.

5. What is the most embarrassing thing that happened to you this year?

I think I have come to the point that nothing embarrasses me anymore...now, maybe that is embarrassing enough! Seriously, there's none that I can remember...fortunately or unfortunately!

Bonus (as in optional): Tell us a secret from your past that you would share during a "Nobody in this room knows this about me" ice-breaker.

Hahaha, not on Christmas day!

P.S. To all who dropped by, thank you for your wonderful greetings!
Merry Christmas!!!

A Perfect Christmas

This is my idea of a perfect Christmas...

Wish you all a perfect Christmas!

My idea of a perfect Christmas
Is to spend it with you
In a party Or dinner for two
Anywhere would do
Celebrating the yuletide season
Always lights up our lives
Simple pleasures are made special too
When their shared with you

Looking through some old photographs
Faces of friends we'll always remember
Watching busy shoppers rushing about
In the cool breeze of December
Sparkling lights, all over town
Children's carols in the air
By the Christmas tree
A shower of stardust on your hair

I can't think of a better Christmas
Than my wish coming true
And my wish is you'd let me spend my whole life with you

My idea of a perfect Christmas is to spend it with you...

Merry Christmas everyone!
Enjoy the holidays!

Singular Saturday - Week 2

No Holds Barred

I got this from Heartsinsanfrancisco, who got it from Chani at Thailand Gal... I have been wanting to do and has been working on it since November, and finally here it is!

These are 35 questions which was from Vanity Fair, titles "Answer as though you are not afraid."

How I love the answers of the two great ladies I just mentioned, and my admiration for them is just astounding. Reading their answers made me reflect and so I am trying it myself here...

1. What is your idea of perfect happiness?

Happiness is when I have found peace with myself and the world and having something to do what I love to do, someone to love, and something to look forward to.

2. What is your greatest fear?

To become the person that society wants me to be rather than the person I wanted to be.

3. Which living person do you most admire?

Anybody who has a strong sense of compassion and forgiveness.

4. What is the trait you most deplore in yourself?

My impatience and having to lie to people so as not to hurt them.

5. What is the trait you most deplore in others?

Greed.

6. What do you consider the most overrated virtue?

Conventionality and Compliance or make that Mediocrity

7. On what occasion do you lie?

I struggle everyday so as not to lie...what makes me lie is when I try to protect someone from being hurt. But then, I'm not sure if this is one instance when the intention weighs more than the outcome...for I know sooner or later the truth will come out and what difference will it make if the person gets hurt today, tomorrow, months from now? I feel like I was only prolonging the agony...

8. What do you dislike most about your appearance?

I love me! I wish I have better teeth though. (But I know I can still do something about it...and the fact that I don't maybe, I am not just so bothered about it!) Then I wish I have better/nicer legs and not restless at that. (Remember this post?) And finally, I wish I have bigger boobs! :D

9. What is your greatest regret?

I could have enjoyed more of my teens. I was too busy with what was seemingly REAL life issues then and I was too in a hurry to grow up. But, it is not a REGRET, just maybe something I could have done better.

10. What or who is the greatest love of your life?

My family and dear friends.

11. Which talent would you most like to have?

I want to be able to sing again!

12. What is your current state of mind?

I am hopeful. Hopeful for so many things...not just for myself but for so many people as well.

13. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

To learn to say No and to be kind to myself.

14. What do you consider your greatest achievement?

I have been a good daughter...was a public servant at a young age (which allowed me to help many out-of-school youth)...I'm able to do what I want to do.

15. If you were to die and come back as a person or thing, what do you think it would be?

I would like to be me again...armed with knowledge on how I can be of better service to others.

16. What is your most treasured possession?

A pair of ebony chopsticks given by an old friend.

(I was helping her organized a charity concert, that's how we met and became friends. She said, the chopstick is something that will remind me not to worry for I shall never go hungry because I have helped so many people by helping her with that event, and I will be blessed.

And true enough, it has brought me enormous blessings. So much that my family and friends would always say it is my lucky charm. But for me, it holds a special place in my heart because it reminds me to always share whatever blessings I have with others, big or small.

I know she valued them so much and yet, she gave them to me. It made me realize that acts of charity and generosity are most valuable when we share to people what we value most.

Money and other material things are the easiest thing to give. But sharing one's self, is a great challenge!)

17. What do you regard as the lowest depth of misery?

Not being able to do what I want to do because of other people's opinion.

18. Where would you like to live?

I think it's more on with whom and for whom...

19. What is your most marked characteristic?

Determined and Compassionate (sometimes to a fault!)

20. Who are your favorite writers?

A lot and too many to mention...depends on the theme too.

21. Who is your favorite hero of fiction?

Jo in "Little Women, Scarlet in "Gone With the Wind", Sayuri in "Memoirs of a Geisha", Vianne Rocher in "Chocolat, Anne of "Anne of Green Gables", Anna Leonowens of "Anna and the King", Guido Orefice of "Life is Beautiful (Vita è bella, La)", and a lot more...I can't just remember them now.

22. Who are your heroes in real life?

Self-made people.

23. What is it that you most dislike?

Prejudice.

24. What is your motto?

Learn as if you were going to live forever. Live as if you were going to die tomorrow...

25. Favorite Journey?

That day when I woke up and realized I couldn't sing anymore. From that moment, to that day I have accepted to myself that there must be a greater meaning for what happened and resolved to find that meaning and stopped asking God why. (That was the best part of my journey so far, that whenever I am in my highs I looked and I am being humbled by that experience, and in my lows, and it gives me strength and faith to tell myself, "..this too, shall pass.")

26. What do you value most in your friends?

The time they spent with me.

27. Which words or phrases do you most overuse?

CRAP

28. Which historical figure do you most identify with?

Evita? LOL

29. What is your greatest extravagance?

Jewelry

30. If you could change one thing about your family, what would it be?

None. My family is not the most perfect one in the world, but I am not and will not change a thing about them.

31. What is your favorite occupation?

I have always wanted to be a mother and a wife. That will be my favorite occupation.

32. What is the quality you most like in a woman?

Compassion

33. What is the quality you most like in a man?

Compassion

34. How would you like to die?

I want to die beautifully (and restful of course!) at the arms of the man I love. (You can laugh...!)

35. If you could choose what to come back as, what would it be?

I want to know how to maximize all that I have to help others.

TMI Tuesday #114

I'm doing TMI Tuesday today. Yes, and I'm doing it from my work desk...I'm bored.

1. Are you done with your shopping yet?

Not yet...I'm still half of my list...not because I'm not doing anything but because the list is getting longer...like last minute, I decided to buy all the security guards, the cleaners and company nurses gifts...and there are about 19 of them!

2. What is your favorite sexual position?

Hahaha! I hope my wholesome readers will not stop coming here because this item...

I have two favorite positions.

In no particular order they are ... missionary with my legs up over the man's shoulders, and...being held up with my legs wrapped around the man's waist.

Make that three...acutally, but I'm keeping my mouth sealed on that one!

3. On a scale of 1-10, how open are you to trying new sexual things?

8?

4. What present are you hoping to get this year?

Hahaha, I want to get a DigiCam for myself! (Yes, I don't have one of my own...)

5. With your current partner (or your last partner) how often was the sex better than just good?

It's always better than good!

Bonus (as in optional):

Can a relationship that you are part of survive on sex alone? Could it survive a prolonged period of abstinence?

For me, a relationship will survive if both parties are willing to keep it and make it work... ;)

Counting Your Blessings (Instead of Sheep)

I'm doing Fun Music Monday today, combining it with my list of things that I'm grateful for...now who says you can't have the best of both worlds, eh?!

This song is amazing...

Listening to this great song, let me count the things I'm grateful for...

(1) The fun I had last night in Wini's Christmas Party!
(2) The ability and the will which afforded me to do ARKs.
(3) A very restful sleep.
(4) Waking up early today!
(5) My migraine is gone, had it the whole day yesterday.
(6) The gift of wisdom who was speaking through me last night when they asked me to give the message last minute...

I never thought I could think of something meaningful to say with my migraine, but I all in all, I think I did great (so modest of me...LOL). I ended my short talk with these lines from Gladys Taber:

Christmas is a bridge.
We need bridges as the river of time flows past.
Today’s Christmas should mean creating happy hours for tomorrow and reliving those of yesterday.

(7) Gift of Chani, of Thailand Gal, her post Remembering Who We Are inspired me on what to talk about when I give another Christmas Message this coming week...

(8) Listening to this song feels so good!

(9) The nice red dress that Yummy gave me...(pictures soon!)

(10) The beautiful shawl that went to well with the dress...I bought that shawl weeks ago not knowing what really to do with it...and it came handy last night... ;)

(11) The sunny day!

(12) I was chasing some yellow butterflies at the garden today.

(13) You! My wonderful reader!

Here is the lyrics of the song, in case you want to see along with it -

COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS (Instead of Sheep)

When I'm worried and I can't sleep
I count my blessings instead of sheep
And I fall asleep counting my blessings
When my bankroll is getting small
I think of when I had none at all
And I fall asleep counting my blessings

I think about a nursery and I picture curly heads
And one by one I count them as they slumber in their beds
If you're worried and you can't sleep
Just count your blessings instead of sheep
And you'll fall asleep counting your blessings

I think about a nursery and I picture curly heads
And one by one I count them as they slumber in their beds
If you're worried and you can't sleep
Just count your blessings instead of sheep
And you'll fall asleep counting your blessings

ARK Sunday at Work

Just got home from a Christmas Party...

Tonight, Quality and Training department had their Christmas Party, and since that is Wini's department...Mariposa of course was there, fluttering around.

Since the whole event was a do-it-yourself thing, I volunteered to do the following for them;

(1) Did the balloon arrangement...

These are the balloons before it was set-up.

(2) Last minute, Wini realized her video cam did not have any tape...I took care of that last minute.

(3) I did the design (with Yummy's help!) of the backdrop.

(4) I printed the invitation for her...

All in all, I feel good for being able to help in making the party a great success... I hope to share some photos soon!

Restless Legs Syndrome?

I just got home and I badly need to sleep, yet I can't...

I'm trying...really hard. I had been up for 16 hours now, and will be at the office in the next 6 hours, so I need to sleep.

BUT

I'm restless...no, not me, my legs!!!

After a very long day, they're definitely tired.

Maybe they need some relaxing...

Maybe they need some stretching...

Maybe they need to be elevated...

Maybe this would finally do it...

My legs, they just have this irresistible urge to move!

I need to sleep...my eyes are willing but my legs are not! :(

P.S. Happy HNT everyone!!!

Sweetly I Rejoice

Solomon Broad of Things I'm Grateful For inspired me to post this entry. And I commit myself to start my week with a post on the things that I'm grateful for...he is right, there is just so much out there that's good and wholesome, and it's easy to ignore them sometimes.

Things I'm grateful for...

(1) The nice sleep.
(2) Good breakfast.
(3) My PC and Internet which allows me to blog and read blogs.
(4) Emails from friends.
(5) The sunny day.
(6) Having a lazy Monday morning.
(7) A glass of orange juice.
(8) I'm now done with my christmas decor. Finally!
(9) The new brassiere that I bought last weekend! Ah, very comfy!
(10) My Acts of Random Kindness...the will and circumstances that afforded me to.
(11) The sound of wind chimes in the porch.
(12) Seeing butterflies in the garden this morning.

Things I want to do/ to have today...

(1) A cheerful and productive day at work today.
(2) Have a nice coffee with Wini and not talk about work. Maybe talk about our upcoming christmas party.

Things I want to do/ to have for others...

(1) Do ARKs whenever I can.

Sunday, December 09, 2007

My First ARK Sunday

This is my first time to join ARK Sundays.

The idea here is to do Act of Random Kindness every week, and it could be to anyone, and post it here every Sunday. Now I know that these acts should come naturally and we don't necessarily post or talk about it, somehow sometimes, I feel we need to have a conscious effort do these acts if they don't come naturally as they are supposed to...

This was inspired by Rura and Miss.

So for this week I did the following ARKs --

(1) On my way out of KUL (the place where my friend Wini and I eat our lunch almost everyday) I opened the door for the waitress who was carrying a tray.

(2) I donated/ loan few dollars to Kiva. I learned about this site through Solomon Broad of Things I'm Grateful For.

(3) Called a very good friend of mine, Toy. toy is a VP of Academic Affairs of CIE. I asked him to contact Kiva and see if they can tap for this organization for their project and request to get beneficiaries from the Philippines.

ARKs really do come naturally for me...and I'm thankful for that...but those 3 were the things I did consciously and at least I can remember well for now...

So I invite everyone to join ARK Sundays...

La Mariposa's 8 Random Facts

This is a meme that I volunteered to do. I got this from Gwen of Everything I Like Causes Cancer.

Here are the rules...

(1) Make a list of eight random facts/habits about themselves.
(2) Tag eight other people to do this meme and list their names.

(3) Leave a comment on each of the Tagged People's websites ton inform them about the meme which they're tagged to do (enjoined to participate!).

Here are the facts...

(1) I love watermelon! So much that I can survive having just watermelon for breakfast, lunch and dinner for days... :D

(2) I need fresh orange juice early in the morning! Or I get cranky...my cup of coffee on the other hand comes before my evening starts (that's before I go to work) and at midnight when I have my break...

(3) I'm a call center professional and I work in the evening.

(4) I'm a BIT of a shopaholic. Many times I've been to the mall/ store to get something and end up with 20 other little items which I don't necessarily need, worst, don't necessarily remember why I got them. Maybe memory gap describes this too...LOL BUT, I really do love to shop...and shop alot I DO!

(5) And I'm not happy with number 4 fact. So in my effort to change that, slowly, I always make sure I go to the mall with somebody and I will tell them, I'm buying that item before I actually buy it...and I'm lucky if they ask me, why or what for, because I brings my senses back and I don't get to buy it anymore. (I know, I know...maybe I sound crazy here...)

(6) I don't write people's name in RED ink because in Chinese tradition it means wishing them misfortunes or bad luck. And I'm not Chinese! :P

(7) I drink occasionally, but when I drink, I mean I DRINK, and yet, I never tried getting drunk, not a bit, not at all. So, I have forever wondered what a HANGOVER really is...

(8) I'm an ee dan or a second degree black belt in Taekwondo.

Wow, that was tough considering I just did some similar memes and I was trying not to repeat any fact(s) about myself.

Here are the people I would love to know more about...

(1) Wholly Burble of Rocking Chair Ruminations
(2) Jan of Dream Weaver's Web
(3) Bob of Zen, Project Management and Life
(4) Her Royal Highness LittlePea
(5) Soccer Mom in Denial
(6) Rachel of That Night
(7) Suze of Suzel's Sass
(8) You! Yes, you! If you want to try it, please feel free...and if you could leave a message here that you are doing it....

Okay, this is not my first time to do a meme like Gwen, but, this is is my FIRST TIME TO TAG fellow bloggers...hope the success rate is acceptable. :D

Have a fun weekend everyone!!!

Procrastination

I am better and in fact I did go to work already,

And this is what I'm going through right now...

100000 feelings
010000 thoughts
001000 ideas
000100 plans
