Lifting It All Up

For my WW entry please scroll down or click HERE.

Early today, I wrote hurriedly a post asking people some favor...so if you can stay a bit, please scroll down and do me favor. And to those who click, my heartfelt gratitude to all you!

I did mention in my early post that I am going to the doctor. Yes I did. They ran some tests and I am going back there in an hour or so for the results. Also, I am getting some shots...and I requested for that Vit. B cocktail shot! (Just Vit. B and Vit. B complex!)

Just in case somebody knowledgeable enough come across this blog, here is what I am going through. I have cough. I had asthma last Thursday...now my breathing is better (though I still have shortness of breath!) but I still have cough. I am feeling an extreme fatigue...and sometimes low grade fever. My voice has gone husky since weekend, but it's getting better. I have colds too! I am hoping it's not pneumonia, though it really looks like it. Though it may help to say I am always inclined to having bronchial asthma and I have allergic rhinitis. So, yes, all this are allergy triggered/ induced! Any change of the weather makes me sick...

Despite that I am happy to say that I was still able to do my commitment. Yes, last Saturday, was our first formal outreach in that certain community. Will write more about it tomorrow for my Thankful Thursday.

So what do we do when we are sick?! After all the due diligence of going to the doctor, taking meds and rest???

Yes, I am doing the greatest thing...lifting it all up to Him. He who is the ultimate healer of all...

So for this week, I share with you Matthew 8:17.

Truly, only He can take up all our infirmities! For a person who has and is always sick, I can attest to His grace and compassion for the sick. He had never failed to carry me through in times like this.

This week, I am praying for healing for everyone...not only in body but also in mind and spirit. Please do join me in my prayers...and in celebrating His words at Word Filled Wednesday.

What Keeps Me Going...

Happy Wordless Wednesday!

Please Do Me

...A Favor

Ha! What have you been thinking??? LOL

I've been away from here, yes!

I am sick and I have been for days...make it a week!

My cough and fatigue is getting horrific...so I'm going to the doctor now and will tell him to give me that Vit. B cocktail shot.

Why do I have to end up telling me doctors what I need...can they not figure it out themselves?!

Duh!!!

Anyway...I did a haiku, and I am a guest writer in another royalty house...so, please do me a favor and visit me at my Back to My Future post. And the host there, she is really a nice lady...so please send her some hugs from me. Yes, I mean The Princess!

I will be back later to tell you how's my check-up...hope it's nothing serious. Maybe not really...or why am I still alive right now?

Ok...time to hit the shower or I'll be late...

Please visit me and The Princess...okay?

Hugs and blessings to all of you!

My WW and WFW entry will follow later...

P.S. If I won't make it here later...that means, I was advised for admission and got no internet at the hospital.

Our Commitment...

For my Wordless Wednesday entry, kindly scroll down or click HERE.

Serving the LORD comes in many ways...and I am happy to be able to celebrate His words here every Word Filled Wednesday...a very humble way of serving the Lord by sharing and celebrating His love through His words...

I am also thankful and blessed to have a family who taught me the value of generosity...truly, it begins at home. I am also thankful for God's mercy in giving me IT Guy who has been so supportive and understanding with all my "charitable" works.

I am also happy to note that I am able to go and leave work early, allowing me to attend holy mass before heading home. For those who are not familiar, I work in the evening since I work in a call center and our support is for the US. So IT Guy drives me to work at around 7-9PM time frame...and pick me up in the morning at around 5-6AM time frame... If I get to leave work at 5, we go to mass at 5:30AM, then he drives me home...have breakfast together and he go to work while I go to bed. I don't think most bf's are willing to do that... ;)

IT Guy and I (together with some Christian volunteers) will start with our first feeding program for less-privileged children. Well, this is usual for me...but to commit to it as an ongoing project...with IT Guy...is something so so delightful!

And since we all know it is always better to teach a person to fish that to give him a fish, I will also be doing a skill inventory in that community and see if I can bring some livelihood projects for them.

All these things are never easy...but He is helping us do all these things.

So this week, I share the following verse as IT Guy and I made it our commitment to server the LORD. And we shall teach/ pass this on to our children, and our children's children.

"...as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD."
- Joshua 24:15

~ @ ~ @ ~ @ ~

Esthermay's post on Life vs. Punishment left me speechless and teary-eyed. The story of Rowan is just one of the many unheard stories all over the world. Sad. Disheartening.

I have chosen Aurelia Spencer Rogers' words...because I have always believed children as gifts from God...and that should be spared from any worldly harshness.

Barack Obama at a Town Hall Meeting in Johnstown, PA - March, 2008, was quoted saying - "If they [my daughters] make a mistake, I don't want them punished with a baby." I do not want to sound political, yet I quoted that to bring the point of shouting at loud that having a baby is not and will not be in any way a punishment...

I cannot and will not judge women who had resulted into acts of getting rid of their babies, yet I have always been hopeful and it is always in my prayer every night for every woman to have enough courage in their hearts to have that compassion towards their unborn babies. Children after all are gifts from God. If it was a "mistake" then be it. Let that child be a chance for us to correct whatever that mistake is and to prove our growth by extending our care beyond ourselves.

Love Blooms Here

I am so grateful for all the wonderful comments I got yesterday. I thank all of you who made the time to come here and celebrate with me Word Filled Wednesday!

So I'd like to share all of you 13 wonderful and uplifting Bible verses...

For the gift of friends...

(1) A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity. - Prov 17:17

(2) A man that hath friends must show himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother. - Prov 18:24

(3) Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep. - Rom 12:15

In it is always a comfort to know that in times of adversity, we can always seek Him...

(4) He heals the brokenhearted, and binds their wounds. - Psalm 147:3

(5) It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man. -Psalm 118:8

(6) Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know. -Jeremiah 33:3

(7) Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up. - Epistle of James 4:10

(8) Be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. - John 16:33

And that in times of trouble, God stands firm...oh what a joy!

(9) We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed. - 2 Corinthians 4:8-9

(10) Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me; You will stretch forth Your hand against the wrath of my enemies, And Your right hand will save me. - Psalm 138:7

(11) Come to me all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your soul. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light. - Matthew 11:28-30

(12) Cast your burden upon the Lord and He will sustain you: He will never allow the righteous to be shaken. - Psalm 55:22

(13) Give thanks to the God of heaven. His love endures forever. - Psalm 136:26

I also would like this opportunity to invite you all to come back here tomorrow if you have the time, I have a very moving story to share with you all... Though I already did the post, I decided to tie it up with Friday Haiku to give way to Thankful Thursday and Thursday Thirteen today.

And finally, allow me to say this prayer -

Dear God,

Thank you for loving me.

Thank you for blessing me special friends that mean so much to me.

Help me to show them how much I love them and appreciate them.

In Jesus Name, Amen.

Living Life

...one day at a time!

Not quite sure if days/ weeks are actually getting longer or if it's just another seasonal thing that wrecked havoc in my system! Regardless, I am still hoping this will be yet another delightful week for me...

Almost two years ago, I wrote Going Nowhere Fast referring to me professional career. Now that's almost 2 years! Where did time go?! What have happened...

Nothing much really...except that I have changed...and I have stopped caring.

What will you do when people whom you have been helping all this time bite back you? What will you do when at the end of each project they simply refuse to acknowledge your help and still went on claiming you have not done anything? What will you do when people around you points their fingers at you accusing you of something you have no idea what about?

Nothing...

I'm not going to do anything...will not explain...will not confront...will not care.

I am tired.

I cannot do anything to how things are going around me but I can certainly do something on how I react and manage things...

Do I get hurt? Not anymore.

Why not? Simple. I have stopped caring.

No, I'm not saying I'm calloused. I'm just saying out loud, if people refuse the gift of my friendship because they just want to use me help them get whatever they need done, then it's not my problem. After all I have developed compassion for pathetic people.

But God will not forsake His people. He counts every good intention we have...and He will not let injustice reign forever, and I take comfort with that.

So this week, Isaiah 41:13 reminds me to stay steadfast, for the Lord is in my side. He is holding me gently...and will carry me through as He had carried me through.

Not that I'm necessarily facing adversity in the literal sense of the word, it's just that, things have been extremely rough for me over the past few months...well...make that...years now! And I'm now finally starting to feel that bit of hope that would allow me to shift gear without rocking myself...

So this week and the days to come is most important to me. I can almost see the road in front of me...and it's something!

I am praying hard for a good news to come...please do hold me in your prayers...for what I am hoping is very monumental to me.

(I hope to be able to talk about it here soon without any apprehension that some lurkers will spoil it...maybe somebody can guest me to write. *wink*)

And once again, amidst all the challenges...

I'm trying to take better care of myself.
I'm trying to eat better.
I'm trying to be more active.
I'm trying to pay closer attention to my skin.
I'm trying to simplify my surroundings.
I'm trying to improve my mental health by being more congruent.
I'm trying to think of how my actions now will affect me later when I make decisions.

I am not looking too far for now...I am focusing on the now...after all, I only need one day at a time...

Celebrate with us as we share inspiring Bible verses at Word Filled Wednesday...

Prayers and blessing to you all!!!

Just Ramblings...

It's a lazy Sunday for me...

My foot still hurts but it's getting better...I really hope the pain go away soon!

I still owe so many people a visit to their blogs...my apologies. I've been sleeping for the most part this weekend...and in fact I just got up and decided to do something...

Please allow be to be lurking...I'm not gone...I'm just here...reading...looking around...just got little energy to make comments...ummm....well, it's more of a brainf*ck thing for me. The moment my fingers touch the keyboard, I'm devoid of thoughts...got nothing to type!

Just one of those days...I'll swing back...I know...and you who have known me here for sometimes knows that too...so please be patient with me as you've always been! ;)

I'm back to doing Unconscious Mutterings...

I say...you think...

  1. Zoo :: animals
  2. Neighborhood :: community
  3. Salute :: respect
  4. Immortality :: life after death
  5. Dominion :: power
  6. Rhonda :: Help Me, Rhonda!
  7. Parties :: fun
  8. Prince of Darkness :: Dracula
  9. Garbage :: we need to minimize
  10. Standard :: ...what my job entails!
This is fun...relaxing...and you may want to try this! Please check out other mutterings as well!

Also, just while checking out Anni's site for her mutterings...saw that she has this wonderful photo meme, Sunday's Sunrise - Sunset Photo Meme, just way to cool for me to miss...I'm a sucker for sunrise...sunset...

So I'm joi
ning it for the first time...and I'd be doing this hopefully every Sunday...

You can join HERE.

The photo below is an old one, since I just learned about this minutes ago...it's fro
m one of my travels in the US years back...

One of the best sunsets in my life...

And with all my many attempts to join Sacred Life Sunday...I finally get to do it today, thanks to this photo!

If you want to know more and read more about Sacred Life Sunday, please click the logo above.

I always love the sunset! There is something so special about it...a chance to recollect all my acts and be ready to face the sunrise for another day.

The Storyteller said it nicely, and let me quote her -- "Let me remember that my problems has been solved." That's one of the many miracles that sunset brings to me. It's a little reminder everyday that God had carried me through another day and that no matter how little I did...I was able to do something...for the people I care...and for myself.

My typin
g of this post is so timely...the sun has set and darkness just started to envelope the earth. But that should not be looked at with fear, but rather I look at it as a chance to see the millions of stars and the infinity of the universe. An infinite chance for us to live the life we ought to live...we wanted to live...He wants us to live. All of this would not have been possible had the sun not decided to set...had it not decided to rest...had it not decided to rise somewhere else to give another person a chance to start another day.

Every sunset is somebody else's sunrise...how wonderful it is to know.

Hope you all have a great Sunday and is so ready for Monday!

The Art of Being...

PhotoHunt: Lazy!

And now for the the lighter side of life at work...still on the same topic... Need to impress someone quickly...and easily? Without any effort?! Ha, take the following action plan! The procedure is simple. Think of any three-digit number; then select the corresponding buzzword from each column.

For instance, number 368 produces "systematized logistical projection", a phrase that can be dropped into virtually any report with that ring of decisive knowledgeable authority. No-one will have the remotest idea of what you're talking about, but the important thing is that they are not about to admit it!

It's more than art, it's science too! LOL

Mottos To Work By

Laughter they say reduces the level of stress hormones...so lucky are those who find sarcasm humor amidst the odds!

I feel so blessed for almost always my humor never failed in moments I need it most! Throughout time I have learned to entertain myself and make myself laugh...I am thinking that could be the reason why I get by and is able to live the life I want despite my BP challenges...and for that I am so grateful!

This week has been enormously great for me and IT Guy!

IT Guy just completed his Project Management training...and should be on his way to getting PMI certification soon!

I am also more than happy to meet wonderful people who are able to help me with my career options. Let me type this out loud here -- It just feels so good to get compliments from people who are more than worthy of it! It's just way fluttering...and fulfilling! I will no longer worry about politics and work but will channel all my energy towards my new projects!

So all in all...God had been great! As He has always been...and always will be!

Let me now share with you 13 corporate sarcasms funny thoughts!

TMI on a Monday...

...though of another kind!!!

Oh...this is not the kind of TMI you think it is...it's something else...though it's still too much information yet...this make you laugh...it made me...so I hope it will make your day!

I stole got this from Ceedy and can't help but do an echo post! I did not make much alterations as the original post as it is -- is way funny too funny to modify!

Inter...course...anyone???

Yes, imagine yourself on a trip...daydreaming and get awaken by that question?! You check your senses to make sure you heard it right...then, yes, the conductor just did ask -- "Intercourse anyone?"

The conductor was not asking if someone wanted an "intercourse" but if someone wanted to get down in a town called Intercourse. It is a town in Pennsylvania...

Yup...yup, this is what this post is all about...interesting names of places around the world.

Ceedy did a great job in his research and most especially in putting them together to make interesting observations...he did put the country in brackets so as not to spoil the fun! ;)

Few close friends went on a road trip. Here is a breakdown of some interesting events.

Wetwang (United Kingdom), Bigadic (Turkey) and Twatt (United Kingdom) decided to Ballplay (Tennessee US) Bare (United Kingdom) to prevent Assloss (Scotland) in Long Dong Village (China) After some initial Petting (Germany), Titisee (Germany) and Beaverlick (Kentucky), the Hooker (California) said I Needmore (Texas US) in the Anus (France)

Meanwhile Bloody Dick (Montana US) with Bobbin Head (Australia) went to Butztown - (Pennsylvania US) instead of Mount Gay (West Virginia US). There was some Cockintake (United Kingdom) and then some Cockburn (Australia) as they Mount Mee (Australia). After they were Dunmovin (California) and had Climax Springs (Missouri US) there was lots of Seman (Alabama US) floating.

As it so happened that while Fucking (Austria) the Titless (Switzeland) Fingringhoe - (Essex, United Kingdom) with a Thong (England), Bangor (Wales) decided to use a Dildo(Canada) on the Beaver (Oklahoma US.) There was plenty of Sexmoan (Phillipines) while Muff (Ireland) diving Onacock (Viginia US) and wanted to Euren (Wisonsin, US) badly and said Fugit (Kentucky US) and went into the woods of Glasscock County (Texas US.)

Edited: Not to spoil the fun but Sexmoan...really refers to Sasmuan, a town in Pampanga which expats usually mispronounce as "sesmuan".

The residents of the nearby
Little Dix Village (West Indies) caught him and he ran with his Weener (Germany) in one hand and showing the middle finger with the other saying Gofoku (Japan)

All in all the trip to Moorheadsville (Illinois US) to see some Titz (Germany) and the Nipple (Wyoming US) was not a Disappointment (Kentucky).

While searching for the above names came across these two mother of all names. Imagine writing this on an envelope or a postcard.

Taumatawhakatangihangakoauauotamateapokaiwhenuakitanatahu,
New Zealand (This is really a place - did a search on Google Maps!!!!)

...and this small tiny rail station in Wales!

LLANFAIRWLLGWYNGLLGOGERYYCHWYRNDROBWILLLLANTYSILIOGOGOGOCH -

Imagine a kid asking his dad - Dad where are we?. Before he can figure out the above town - the train will surely have started to depart!!!

And best for the last - will you ever wear such a T-shirt. Its a town in Connecticut, US.

Too much information...right? Hope it gives you a genuine Monday smile...

A Lover's Tale

early morning talks
a million word discussion
distance unites us

your touch is gentle

as you explore the layers

of my rhythmic heart

it wasn't enough
a glance...then i see you go

it just breaks my heart

a note to myself -
it's hard to be fabulous

when so much goes wrong

so stop denying

you love him and no one else
hearts can never lie

Happy Friday
everyone...wish you all a meaningful weekend!

Freedom...Anyone?

This week...I chose to post quotes and quotations on freedom of the press...freedom of expression. This was triggered by two things, a week ago, Cebu celebrated Freedom of the Press Week, and another blogger Lecram made a post on Freedom of Expression - A Plea.

I always try to stay away from political discussion here as most of you know, in as much as I can, I try to make my post here light and personal, yet, there are times when I feel I need to say something...and this is one of those times.

I was supposed to make this post last weekend, but circumstance did not allow me so, here it is.

Blogging has become so much part of the many of us that we most of the times, rant...ramble and shout out our opinions in here. And we do that without fear of being kicked in butt for saying our thoughts. We keep an open mind and go into discussions...and I believe it has become a healthy venue for exchange of opinions.

So what do you have to say if you learn that a blogger was thrown into jail for voicing out his opinions against the government? I can't believe it too, but it happened! No fair trial...no due process...nothing at all!

I never claimed to be well-versed in different laws, but I do believe in due process, and that treating a person innocent until proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt is just a universal law...I mean, in a civilized society. So I have included several links here so you can go and read them yourselves.

There is an ONLINE PETITION going on, so you can sign up and help this individual be given at least fair trial.

I did join the online petition as I have my personal stand on this issue. I am not the type to carry placards across the street to fight for a cause, but certainly I am not one person who just bit her tongue when I know what is right.

And Thankful Thursday reminds me once again of the many things I should be grateful for. One is my ability to think freely...and express my thoughts...and more importantly the guidance on which and where to use them not only to my benefit but to the people around me as well.

I am grateful that finally that software which monitors my desktop activity at work had been removed as it turns out it was not supposed to be there...speaking of freedom...LOL

I am grateful for the gift of friendships...as I have always been!

So here are 13 wonderful quotes on our topic today --

(1) “Freedom of expression - in particular, freedom of the press - guarantees popular participation in the decisions and actions of government, and popular participation is the essence of our democracy.” ~ Corazon Aquino

As long as we do not overdo it... ;)

(2) “It is by the goodness of God that in our country we have those three unspeakably precious things: freedom of speech, freedom of conscience, and the prudence never to practice either.” ~ Mark Twain

Amen.

(3) “If the freedom of speech is taken away then dumb and silent we may be led, like sheep to the slaughter.” ~ George Washington

This has its wisdom...

(4) “The government being the people's business, it necessarily follows that its operations should be at all times open to the public view. Publicity is therefore as essential to honest administration as freedom of speech is to representative government. 'Equal rights to all and special privileges to none" is the maxim which should control in all departments of government.' ~ William Jennings Bryan

It's always nice to bring balance...

(5) “In the future days, which we seek to make secure, we look forward to a world founded upon four essential human freedoms. The first is freedom of speech and expression. The second is freedom of every person to worship God in his own way. The third is freedom from want…. The fourth is freedom from fear.” ~ Franklin D. Roosevelt

The fourth one made me stare at the line for minutes...love it!

(6) “The most important aspect of freedom of speech is freedom to learn. All education is a continuous dialogue - questions and answers that pursue every problem on the horizon. That is the essence of academic freedom.” ~ William Orville Douglas

This is what I learn most of all in my years of stay at the University of the Philippines.

(7) “Serious violations of human rights, of civil liberties, the freedom of political expression are matters of concern to every member of the international community,” ~ Robin Cook

I agree.

(8) “Internet journalism could advance freedom of expression and wider view points. Although I have been convicted by Iranian courts, I have not lost hope and I am sure that in coming years the rulers of my country will have to respect the flow of information and freedom of expression.” ~ Arash Sigarchi

Surely internet journalism is here and will be here for years to come!

(9) “No one has paid attention to it. But now people are realizing that freedom of expression throughout the world is at stake.” ~ Julien Pain

What do you think?

(10) "The only valid censorship of ideas is the right of people not to listen." ~Tommy Smothers

So very true!

(11) We have a natural right to make use of our pens as of our tongue, at our peril, risk and hazard. ~Voltaire

I couldn't agree more!

(12) The peculiar evil of silencing the expression of an opinion is, that it is robbing the human race; posterity as well as the existing generation; those who dissent from the opinion, still more than those who hold it. If the opinion is right, they are deprived of the opportunity of exchanging error for truth: if wrong, they lose, what is almost as great a benefit, the clearer perception and livelier impression of truth, produced by its collision with error. ~John Stuart Mill

That is why...true censorship is with the people...who after all has the freedom of thought...

(13) No man is above the law and no man below it. ~Theodore Roosevelt

That is why I signed the online petition in support of that blogger!
