It's a holiday here as we are celebrating our Independence Day. I will not talk on how we got our independence here but feel free to click on the link if you want to know more. All I know is we owe this day to the brave souls who laid their lives for our freedom. Every June 12 I have only one prayer, and it was best said by the character Elias in Jose Rizal's book El Filibusterismo --

“Nothing will remain of me. I die without seeing the dawn gleam over my native land…You who are destined to see it, salute it, do not forget those who have fallen during the night.”
