I've talked about the shift from just losing weight to getting lean, and how lifting weights became a game-changer for me. But there's one more piece of the puzzle I haven't mentioned yet: accountability.
A few weeks ago, I wrote about finding a fitness partner, and honestly? That decision has made all the difference, even though we've never trained in the same room together.
He's fully online, cheering me on through messages, check-ins, and progress updates, but distance hasn't made the accountability any less real.
- Consistent check-ins - He asks how my workouts went, even from miles away.
- Celebrating small wins together - Every little progress gets acknowledged, which keeps me motivated.
- Honest accountability - On the days I want to skip, he's the reason I still show up.
Motivation fades, but accountability sticks, even from miles away. If you're on a similar journey, find your person, wherever they may be. It changes everything.
Moving Forward
This chapter of my journey isn't about chasing a number anymore—it's about building strength, showing up consistently, and trusting the process. Weight loss got me started, but lifting weights (with the occasional road run to keep things fresh) is what's helping me become genuinely stronger, leaner, and healthier.
Here's to the little wins. They add up to something bigger than we realize.
