Due Diligence (Or: The Universe Really Said "I Told You So")

The past few days have shown me things I was afraid of seeing. Not dramatic, not catastrophic — just inconvenient. The kind of truths that sit quietly in the corner of a room until you're finally ready to stop rearranging the furniture around them.

So how long do I get to play the blindfolded main character? At what point does "I didn't notice" expire as an excuse?

Here's a plot twist though — maybe I did notice. Maybe this isn't ignorance finally catching up to me. Maybe it's clarity, dressed up in a slightly annoying outfit, showing up right on schedule. My spirit guides have never been subtle. They don't whisper — they full-on narrate, like an overly invested friend reading me my own diary entries back to me.

And this month's chapter title? Due diligence.

Which, honestly — fair. Deserved, even. Because look, I'm not in my teens anymore, swept away by butterflies and bad decisions dressed up as destiny. Even back then, infatuation never got to drive my car. I've always kept one hand on the wheel and one eyebrow permanently raised.

So if the universe is handing me a homework assignment labeled "pay attention, genius," I suppose the least I can do is actually open the textbook this time.

Clarity isn't always comfortable. But at least it's honest — and honestly? That's a much better date than infatuation ever was.
