First ARKs for 2008!

I have been committing myself to doing ARKs Sunday (Acts of Random Kindness) but had not written about them due to the holidays...

So today, I ask myself, what have I done this year, so far...

So here they are...not in particular order -

(1) Finished some training materials for COPC Executive Briefing and Six Sigma orientation for the center. Now, nobody asked me to do this, I'm not obliged...yet, I did them anyway for several reasons...on top of them is...it is always nice to share knowledge to people, not only it can help me with my process improvement initiatives...it will be a good legacy to them should I move to another company.

(2) Help our basketball team with their fund raising and provide them 260-Q balloons for their game...yes, my own expense...and it feels good! Sorry no pictures this time...

(3) Leave generous tips to the waitresses and waiters...for the whole week! Yehey, I finally did it.

(4) Pay extra to cab drivers.

(5) Sorted my old things and sold shoes and clothes which I don't need...and give the money to charity.

(6) Smile to strangers...

The last one seems odd, but I have been doing that consciously...and I love it.

Happy Sunday everyone!

It's interesting, Mariposa - in parts of the States, we smile at strangers all the time. And, in fact, often folks from other cultures find that unnerving (or nice)! Did you get some nice smiles back? The ARK Sunday idea is lovely.

Hi Jen! Oh yes, people most of the time can't help but smile back...the nicest thing is when you see it the delight in their eyes, half believing somebody smiled at them! :)

What a great idea. Where my husband's family lives, everyone waves hello to each other. Whether they know each other or not. Very nice!

What nice things you have done this year so far. I does make you feel good to know that you have brought a smile to someone's face. I have sent a good morning card to my yahoo group for years in hopes that it will make one person smile or feel better. You keep it up. (((HUGS)))

That's a very nice idea, Mariposa. Congratulations on your acts of kindness.

I see that you didn't list a #6, though... ;-)
