OMG...It's Friday!

It's Friday already!?!

Time flies so fast...I need more than 24 hours a day...and I need that pill that would allow me to be up for 4 days. I have been so busy for the past weeks yet I try to make sure to visit this place and take few minutes break. I have never been so tired and tense and sick in my life...yet I don't think I would also want it any other way. Life is so highly dynamic and complicated...and I am! :)

So I'm here with Friday Fill-Ins...

1. Finally, I am able to smile despite the hectic schedule.

2. This new role sure takes some getting used to!

3. Dad says: he will always be with us.
He passed away last December and I miss him so much...

4. Yummy is my favorite nick name for the IT Guy.

5. It took a long time, but I'm slowly getting the grip.

6. This role I have has taken so much of me though I wouldn't have it any other way.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to finishing all documentation I need for our PCI Audit, tomorrow my plans include having a good work session with my staff and Sunday, I want to attend to mass!
I need more than luck for next week...hope you guys would share some of those lucky charms with me!

I wish you all a kick-ass weekend! Take care!

To Love and Be Loved

LOVE is ...when you meet somebody better and you still stay with the person you promised to be with.

Yesterday I woke with these flowers delivered to my house, didn't expect for the IT Guy to bother since he was here over the weekend and being from another island can be quites a challenge to organize and sed something...specially that he has been quite busy the past weeks.

So I guess he loves me. He has stayed with my for 8 years now. Despite the person I am. With all my infirmities...and so forth.

Honey...words cannot express how grateful I am to have you with me. I look forward to each day because I know you are with me despite the distance. Thank you very much for everything and I love you!

Yours always,

Mariposa

P.S. I wish you all a great week, and Happy not so WORDLESS WEDNESDAY!

Facts About Chocolates

It is nice to be back...

Things are not so well with me. Just so much to do...so little time. For the past days, while I'm not really fond of them, chocolates have been my company at the office. so for this week's Thursday 13...let's talk about CHOCOLATES!

1. It is believed that chocolate was originally used more than 2,500 years ago in Central America. The Mayan civilisation considered Cacao to be a divine gift and held it in high regard. It was used for ceremonies and as a form of currency. 'Cacao' is a Maya word meaning 'god food' which after being introduced to Europe in the 16th century, was the basis of the Latin name for the Cacao tree 'Theobrama Cacao' meaning 'food for the gods'.

2. 'Chocolate' comes from the Aztec word xocalati which means bitter water.

3. More than 66 percent of the worlds cacao is produced in Africa and 98 percent of the worlds cocoa is produced by just 15 countries.

4. More than twice as many women than men eat and crave for chocolate.

5. It is observed that chocolate cravings cannot be satisfied by any sweet/candy other than chocolate itself. Huh!

6. Chocolate produces the effects of a mild anti-depressant by increasing serotonin and endorphin levels in the brain. (No wonder!)

7. Chocolate contains a small quantity of caffeine which emulates mild amphetamine.

8. Although not scientifically proven, chocolate is believed by many, to be an aphrodisiac. The theory is supported by the fact that chocolate does contain among many chemicals the stimulants: caffeine, theobromine, and phenyethylamine.

9. The biggest chocolate structure ever made was a 4,484lb, 10 foot tall, Easter egg, made in Melbourne Australia.

10. 17,000 people in Belgium work in the chocolate industry

11. Despite being high in fat content, chocolate doesn't appear to raise blood cholesterol levels.

12. Allergies to chocolate are uncommon (Good to know!).

13. In 2006 more than 6.5 million tons of chocolate was traded worldwide.

Happy CHOCOLATEy Thursday everyone!!!

My Rose...

You are beautiful, but you are empty.
One could not die for you.
To be sure, an ordinary passerby
would think that my rose looked just like you--
the rose that belongs to me.
But in herself alone she is more important
than all the hundreds of you other roses:
because it is she that I have watered.

-The Little Prince, Antoine de Saint-Exupery

Happy Wordless Wednesday everyone!

The Earth Moves

saw ripples in my coffee
thought it was magic,
but no! it was the earthquake...
