The Procrastinator's Creed

I'm doing both Thankful Thursday and Thursday Thirteen today...and to be able to do that is something I am so grateful!

Enormous blessings showered me this week...and I sit here reflecting on what goodness have I done in life to deserve what I have...most especially the people around me who cares so much for me.

I can type the same thing over and over every Thursday for these are the things which I am most grateful for...you may get tired reading it...yet I just want to make it a point never to be too tired to celebrate all the glories I have...after all, life is beautiful!

I am now getting way better and my mood is picking up slowly...so, I'm rebounding...without any mood pills...praise God!

For a change...I'm trying something light for today...and I hope you will all enjoy my list...

1. I believe that if anything is worth doing, it would have been done already.

2. I shall never move quickly, except to avoid more work or find excuses.

3. I will never rush into a job without a lifetime of consideration.

4. I shall meet all of my deadlines directly in proportion to the amount of bodily injury I could expect to receive from missing them.

5. I firmly believe that tomorrow holds the possibility for new technologies, astounding discoveries, and a reprieve from my obligations.

6. I truly believe that all deadlines are unreasonable regardless of the amount of time given.

7. I shall never forget that the probability of a miracle, though infinitesmally small, is not exactly zero.

8. If at first I don't succeed, there is always next year.

9. I shall always decide not to decide, unless of course I decide to change my mind.

10. I shall always begin, start, initiate, take the first step, and/or write the first word, when I get around to it.

11. I obey the law of inverse excuses which demands that the greater the task to be done, the more insignificant the work that must be done prior to beginning the greater task.

12. I know that the work cycle is not plan/start/finish, but is wait/plan/plan.

13. I will never put off until tomorrow, what I can forget about forever.

This is list is never to encourage procrastination...it's just that, I'd like to look at this list as a reminder to pause and not to take life too seriously...it's already too serious as it is!

The Unspoken...

had life been concise
i'd be counting one to ten
with the universe

had life been precise
things will be in equations
and in absolutes

had life been more fair
i would have existed not
in unspoken word

i heard the sound of
the last chime as it echoes
in my whole being

there was silence, then
time ceases to exist, i
turned a year older

Just A Year Older!

Mariposa just turned 29!

And I think I have finally kicked my asthma...pharyngitis...and flu in the butt!

I'd like to THANK YOU ALL for all your love...

To be in bed sick...without internet makes me feel so detached from the world...good thing I have it back now!

I was almost at the point of not celebrating my birthday because of all the things I'm going through...yet, I'd like to thank IT Guy for being there and my guide.

He had made me strong all this time...and told me to shake off everything I'm going through...work and personal...health...and reminded not to entertain any depressing thoughts for God does not want us to be shaken...with a smile...because that used to be my line...a line I got from my Spiritual Director!

So, we have a simple dinner with family and some close friends and relatives...and it was a HAPPY birthday indeed. IT Guy is right...life is beautiful. We just have to look around and appreciate every little things that we have.

I'm grateful for all the blessings and graces I have received for 29 years now. I have been sick and all, and yet I'm still here...functioning and quite successful in everything that I do. I have people around me who loves me and care for me... I could not ask for more.

Did I get the red shoes? No. Or not yet. I don't know. I have not gone out for almost 2 weeks. IT Guy told me we will go out this weekend, so I still don't know. But I got something better than the red shoes...guess what?!

YOU....

ALL of you...

I feel so loved...both here (BLOGland) and here (my land)! LOL

Dear Mariposas's Readers...

Hi everyone, this is the IT Guy. Sorry I have to hack her account because mariposa's internet connection at home is down for several days already. Mariposa is also very sick and has been absent from work for days now. She is also unable to go online that much. Today is her birthday and I hope she will get better soon.

The Red Butterfly...

That is how my other friends call me...and it's so easy to figure out why...

I'm fascinated with butterflies...and I love RED! So much!!!

So today, I'd like to share with you 13 facts about the color RED...

(1) In the Ebers Papyrus, said to be the oldest complete book in existence (c.1550 B.C.), the color red was used for chapter headings, names of diseases, and weights and dosages of drugs.

(2) The Egyptians considered themselves the red race and applied red dye for emphasis.

(3) The word "ruby" comes from the Latin word rubens, meaning "red".

(4) Red also means "Beautiful" in Russian.

(5) There are at least 23 different shades of red crayons.

(6) The color red doesn't really make bulls angry; They are color-blind.

(7) Chinese brides traditionally wear red wedding dresses for good luck.

(8) The red stripes on the United States Flag stand for courage.

(9) While in ancient times, the Romans used red flag as a signal for battle.

(10) Seeing the color red can make your heart beat faster.

(11) In India red is a symbol for soldiers.

(12) As few as two percent of people in the United States have red hair.

(13) In Chinese tradition, it is bad luck to write a person's name in red ink as it means death to that person.

I hope you learn something from my Thursday Thirteen list today... ;)

And also, I can't let Thursday pass me by without giving thanks to all the graces and blessings I received the entire week.

I'd like to give thanks for the gift of friends...reading all your comment/emails is more than a heart-warming experience...your love radiates through my monitor! I couldn't thank you enough for being there for me...and I feel so blessed to have met you all!

I'm so grateful for the gift of health...gift of life! This week had been rough on me...and yet I'm still here...alive...and happy!

I also can't help but mention how happy I am with the news that there is going to be a rollback on the price of fuel today and it is expected to keep going down for the whole month of September. I believe that is good news for all the Filipino people...and since that is dictated by the world market, I would presume that the world market is also rolling back their prices and that is good news for all of us!

I have been arguing with IT Guy on whether I should get myself a new pair of red shoes for my birthday...he does not want me to get them. For a simple reason that I do not need them. I have plenty of shoes and I just bought a pair and some I haven't even worn them yet...I see his point. How could I worry about that red shoes when the entire world is having rice shortage...unemployment...oil price hikes?!

But, don't you think if more people buy shoes, more people would also be employed by those shoe manufacturing firms? Joke! LOL

I wish and pray for all the people who are feeling the crunch of this economic challenge that we all face right now...and I also pray IT Guy gets to be enlightened and buy me that red shoes! I'm so silly...I know... :)

Beyond The Horizon

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight."
- Proverbs 3:5-6

I'd like to thank to all you visited my site, to those who sent messages wishing me well... my throat still hurts but I'm better.

I have combined my Wordless Wednesday and Word Filled Wednesday today. This is an old photo I took in one of you tours in 2000. I need to check my old journal though to check on the exact place, my folders are in mess and I saw this one, with a text note in the folder saying Proverb 3:5-6. I may have wrote that down before for a reason...I checked the Bible, and there, a very beautiful verse resonating what's in the photo! I just can't help myself but share...

Happy (not so) Wordless Filled Wednesday to all you!

I Feel Like I'm Dying...

Thank you for all who visits...and for your kind words.

I apologize if I'm not able to visit all of you yet...I've been sick since Wednesday evening!

I'm going to the doctor now...and honestly, I just want to stay in the hospital...though I used to refuse that.

My tonsils are inflamed...and I can't almost swallow my saliva....yup, that bad! Not to mention my entire body is in pain...and my neck...nape are all stiff!

I just feel...I'm going to die! Duh!

Also, I have been experiencing pain in my hips...and it goes to my whole buttocks down to the legs....though tolerable most of the times...it gets annoying...and lately, very irritating! It's just too damn painful...and the massage though made me feel better did not help me with at all!

So, any suggestion? Because I'm so into consulting an Orthopedics already...and as I was researching...things get a bit scary...hello, I don't want a surgery or some kind of replacement! I'm planning of seeing a chiropractor first...though Mom and IT Guy are not so sold on the idea...

Wish me luck anyone...I'm so hoping to kick this illness in the butt soon!

Love you all...HUGS!

Wordly Monday!!!

Hello everyone!

I know, I know...how come I seem to be doing only a weekly post...well, things are just a bit hectic for me the past days...but I'm trying not to miss Busy Monday!

Today will be FUN, MANIC and MUSICAL!!!

Mo of Manic Monday made BIG this week's theme...

Hmmm...BIG...like, Big, in the Sex and City?! He makes me miss Ace so much...so that character that first came to my mind...and sent me to Oblivion for minutes...

But, back to this post...

Add to that, Emily and Jennifer of Mothers of Brothers set the following challenge for FUN Monday -

Choose your favorite words or words. And the trouble is - it’s hard to choose. We bloggers love all words. But luckily, these are words and not people so we don’t have to worry about offending the words we didn’t choose.

Oh well...FUN yet MANIC indeed!

Well...well...

I'm a lover of WORDS...yet, there are words, that are quite BIG meaning as far as Mariposa's glossary of terms is concern...

Before I go too serious with my business today...let me tell you that today --

I'm tired...

And energized...

Both at the same time!

Today, I had my wall climb after a very long time...and damn, it feels so GOOD!

It always feels GOOD to scale your obstacles...

and CONQUER heights!

To be at the TOP...to LEAD!

To REACH your DESTINY!

It's such an ACHIEVEMENT to get to the TOP...

Ans scaling your way down...feels like FLYING!

I always LOVE to FLY!!!

Those my friends were BIG WORDS for Mariposa...

I'd also love to share with you the following poem, for the love of WORDS.

"A Jingle of Words"
by Elizabeth (Betty) Stam

Don't you love the common words
In usage all the time;
Words that paint a masterpiece;
Words that beat a rhyme,
Words that sing a melody,
Words that leap and run,
Words that sway a multitude,
Or stir the heart of one?

Don't you love the lively words--
Flicker, leap and flash,
Tumble, stumble, pitch and toss,
Dive, and dart and dash,
Scramble, pirouette and prance,
Hurtle, hurdle, fling,
Waddle, toddle, trot and dance,
Soar and snatch and swing?

Don't you love the lengthy words--
Subterranean,
Artificial, propagate,
Neapolitan,
Revelation, elevate,
Ambidextrous
Undenominational,
Simultaneous?

Don't you love the noisy words--
Clatter, pop and bang,
Scrape and creak and snarl and snort,
Crash and clash and clang,
Crackle, cackle, yowl and yap,
Snicker, snare and sneeze,
Screech and bellow, slash and howl,
Whistle, whine and wheeze?

Don't you love the colorful--
Amber, rose and gold,
Orchid, orange and cerise,
Crimson, emerald,
Purple, plum and lavender,
Peach and Prussian blue,
Turquoise matrix, jade and jet,
Hazel, honeydew?

Yes, with just the common words
In usage everywhere,
You can capture incidents
Beautiful and rare.
In words you have a weapon
More mighty than a gun;
You can say the multitude
Or stir the heart of one.

And finally...Happy Music Monday everyone....hope you love this one...for this is one of my favorites...Angel of of the Morning...and I love the kick of this version...though Olivia Newton's, Bonnie Tyler's as well as The Pretenders' were just as amazing!

There’ll be no strings to bind your hands
Not if my love can find your heart
And there’s no need to take a stand
For it was I who choose to start
I see no need to take me home
I’m old enough to face the dawn

Just call me angel of the morning, angel
Just touch my cheek before you leave me
Oh my baby
Just call me angel of the morning, angel
Then slowly turn away from me

Maybe the sunlight will be dim
But it won’t matter anyhow
If morning’s echoes say we’ve sinned
Then it was what I wanted now
And if we’re victims of the night
I won’t be blinded by the light

Oh my baby
Just call me angel of the morning, angel
Just touch my cheek before you leave me, baby
Just call me angel of the morning
Then slowly turn away from me

Baby baby baby

Just call me angel of the morning, angel
Just touch my cheek before you leave me
Oh my baby
Just call me angel of the morning, angel
Just touch my cheek before you leave me, baby
Just call me angel of the morning, angel
Just touch my cheek before you leave me
Oh my baby
Just call me angel of the morning, angel
